“It was a fairly subtle accent, but everything feels a little more strenuous in July heat/humidity. We only did about 10 miles out and back and didn't finish hiking the trail. There wasn't a readable map as the posted ones case is so weathered and there were no paper maps, but I'm sure there were plenty more trail miles to hike. They have a number of stone campfire sites, that don't look like they have been used recently. I'm definitely interested in checking out more of the Uwharrie national forest has to offer, but to be completely honest this location had me a little uneasy. First there was a number of discarded food items in the homestead, enough to suggest that perhaps someone was squatting there. Then there were several freshly and unnecessary chopped down young trees that were cut and left in the way of the trail. Lastly on the way out we took a different path that goes over a small creek near the trail exit and there were clear fresh footprints in the mud. There really isn't much chance we wouldn't have run into whomever it was on the trail. It really only splits near the top campsites. I expected to see another vehicle when we got to the parking lot, but nope. It may have been nothing or maybe someone is squatting there which isn't in itself a reason for concern, but either way something felt off. I definitely wouldn't go hiking alone there and without some precaution.”

“This is one of our favorite places to paddle. There is a small fee to launch, but well worth it to have facilities and safe place. Mostly small fishing boats, no jet skis and not much development. Very peaceful.”

“Loved, Loved Loved it!! Brought back childhood memories. Campground an facilities are immaculate ! Everyone is super pleasant in office. So many activities.... laser tag, huge playground pool looks well kept (closed for winter, ), ping pong, huge jumping thing. Close to the zoo. They have propane on site to refill tanks, large sites, golf cart trails, adding a water park area. Owner is amazing! Shower facilities were wonderful. Just need more laundry facilities and a dog park, but sure those will come with time. Stayed here 9 days and loved it. Coming back in June!! Can't wait!”

“To the people who run this place, I would like to again thank you for allowing me to climb the mountain. I came here with my mother on 5/29/22, and while it was a very steep climb up to the towers, it was well worth it, and I'd like to thank you for giving me the opportunity! For those who don't know, the cell phone towers on the camp property are the highest point in Randolph County! My only complaint is that there wasn't much of a view as the website indicated, and you certainly can't see Pilot Mountain from it”

“This is a great place for a workout. They have a great assortment of equipment. I love the fact that they have a little bit of everything here. Treadmills, elliptical machines, rowing machines, a walking track upstairs and a weight lifting room, just to name a few. They also keep the place very clean and safe. It's a great place to go to get healthy and fit.”

“Very, very nice large, clean, well-maintained, and well-treed park, with trails and natural areas, ball fields, picnic areas, ample safe and padded playgrounds, ample parking, and clean, safe, and stocked restrooms. My first visit here was a weekend evening, when the large community center was closed so didn't see everything offered, but already decided it's our family's go-to place for picnic get-togethers, it is close to I-85 and central to all family in Greensboro, High Point, and Lexington. Looking forward to exploring more areas and activities at the park this summer!”

“I have lived here all my life and the changes to our town such as the park are much appreciated. The Xmas lights are beautiful now. The water fountain and how clean the park is is also much appreciated. I have yet had time to catch their live music or food truck events but plan to catch it in 2022.”

“Wildlife refuge Haha more like camp ground. cleared all the habitat for wildlife and built a house there.... true habitat. Wonder how much this person knows about farming. Never did any farming in their life. Never had anything to do with the farm until both parents were dead then tried to steal the land then got busted in a lawsuit. Bunch of liberals. Jay Hohn Sr would know who the real farmer is. He was a real farmer too and you had nothing to do with it. At least I do give 5 stars for trying. With my cows in their picture. Its farms... multiple locations.... Lol. Funny how people act when they get 15 acres given to them. Shooting bb guns at cows.. seems like real wildlife lovers Ps thought the name of this 15 acre tract of land was Silo and vineyards what a joke.”

“Great summer camp loved by generations of girls scouts. The programs are fun and the girls have looked forward to returning year after year. There are day camps and events throughout the year. Girls need to become a member of Girl Scouts (easy online sign-up) to attend the day or overnight camps but do not need to be a member of a troop. There are a variety of overnight summer camps for a variety of interests. Descriptions and more info can be found on the camplikeagirl.org keyauwee website.”

“Awesome family educating destination any time of the year. Being able to truly experience how a farm was ran more than 100 years ago is eye opening. My children love to see the farm animals in various seasons. We even go in the middle of snow storms...I tell them "the animals must always be cared for no matter the weather"... It's especially nice in late Spring when the lambs are about. The blacksmith shop is full of unique items to help educate the young ones on the savvy of farm life.”

“Finally had a chance to take my granddaughter along for a hunt with my dogs. Trying to get her interested in hunting and hopefully show her about the breed GSP that she will be getting soon! We had a fabulous time! The fields are in great shape and Mark was super nice host! Very reasonable prices! Our dogs did pretty well for not hunting last year at all! We will be back very soon! Thanks again!”

“Our favorite park to go to. The disc golf course is fun. 2 different parks to suit all of my kids age. One for smaller kids that's fenced in, the other with a great layout my kids love. Both have soft grounds so if they happen to trip and fall, no boo-boos and they just get right back up. A fun walking trail beside a stream that my older kids love playing in when the weather is warmer.”

“This place is awesome, and it's right in town. There is a decent amount of parking available. They have 2 shelters and tables to use for picnics. There are 2 viewing decks and both are wheelchair accessible, as the path to those is flat. Nice place to spend some time listening and viewing the falls. And Hayden Run Falls is just a short drive from these.”
