“Had an absolute blast today! Scott was very cooperative and was in constant contact up until the hunt. The dogs were gorgeous and great hunters. I will absolutely be going back again. I can't wait to share this experience with my close friends!”

“Church picnic under Shelter #2 with the pond in the background... paradise! There's a reason we've been coming here for decades!”

“Very nice campground! A gem of city parks. We were in site 40 on the waterfront with W/E. We enjoyed watching all the birds and playful squirrels. Our site was somewhat level, but did require some blocks, but that’s what we carry them for! Camp hosts very friendly and helpful. Huge bundles of firewood at five dollars each. Staff leaves the office at 5:30 so it’s best to arrive prior to that. They do list reservations on the door when closed, but you don’t get the code to get out of the gate that closes at eight. Bathrooms are modern and fairly nice, with plenty of warm water, but they could’ve been a little cleaner. We felt very safe. We will stop back through. .”

“I have seen this park visiting my cousins over the years. Has great use, well taking care of and potential and room to expand and update over years to come. A little secret...walkibg the track this time of the year(Fall) you'll come across pecans or walnuts on the street side. Good Luck!”

“The Deshavo Mill access is 20 minutes north of the Mayo River State Park access, and is nearly at the Virginia state line. The road to the parking lot is not paved and narrow; the parking lot is quite limited. There are no restrooms at this access point. The trail itself was an easy and beautiful 1.3 miles out and back. The waterfall can be viewed soon after beginning the hike. Although it may not seem worth it, definitely continue to follow the hike past the waterfall—it follows Fall creek, showcasing beautiful clear water, rocks, beautiful reflections and mini rapids. There are ample places to safely climb the rocks! The creek then flows into Mayo River. The trail follows alongside this, eventually leading to some rapids (pictured below, with the big rocks) which were absolutely stunning! The trail goes about .5 miles to the right before ending at the VA state line. It’s a little unclear, but there’s a tree with yellow lines on it and two of the trailhead markings, marking the end of the trail. You can go past this point but it goes into private property. I definitely recommend this easy hike! It was so peaceful and enchanting”

“It's a nice and easy walking trail. Pretty flat throughout. Has a good amount of benches and poop bag/trash cans along the way. It's very clean and well maintained. If you're going to go while there is snow on the ground, I recommend using a walking stick since some areas get icy and slippery.”

“We were told not to expect much from sometime who had camped with old owners. When we checked in found that Nick and his wife had just bought it 3 weeks before. We have been several times now. The bathhouses are very clean and we'll maintained. The pool is crystal clear. Heart went out to them when we saw the flooding but they picked right up and got it done, Highly recommend here.”

“As a mobile RV Tech, I do a lot of work in a lot of places. I've always been met with a warm welcome from the owner and the people that reside there have always been friendly and a lot of fun to work for. Insofar as the park from a technical side, the power is good and the water pressure is regulated well. Constant improvements being done. Would recommend, for sure”
