Park

“What a perfect day for beautiful hike at Richfield Heritage Preserve. It is a true blessing that this location was not purchased and destroyed for new home development. Here you will find a 336 acre beautiful hiking treat, see all the beautiful wildflowers, cabins from the girl scout years gone by. There is history here be sure to read up before trek, in the process of repairs is the mill house awaiting its new wheel from Kentucky! The beautiful dance hall is dilapidated and in need of dire repairs there is a gorgeous stone fireplace that you can see from the window. The floor in the dance also holds natural spring dance floor so the women in the 1800s early 1900s could dance longer in evening hours and have relief from fatigue. The Clearwater lower lake needs help as well its no longer clear but just needs help too. They offer yoga classes, wild flower trails, bridle trails. Keep in mind trails can be muddy, wear appropriate foot wear , and bring your water to stay hydrated. Stay on the marked trails not to disturb wild life. Richfield Heritage Preserve rely on donations and volunteers to maintain this beautiful sanctuary.”

Furnace Run Metro Park

Address: 4955 Townsend Rd, Richfield, OH 44286, USA

Park

“Great park with plenty of space for small or large gatherings. Picnic tables with grills scattered throughout the whole area. There are even some that are nestled in the woods. They have a small shelter attached to a small reserved pavilion. Two separate trails totaling around 2 miles. Rock Creek Trail takes you meandering through the woods along Rock Creek. There are several creek crossings over man-made bridges. This flat dirt Trail is great for young and old. Old Mill Trail takes you the opposite way along Rock Creek the trail splits pretty quickly when you enter. The right stays a bit flatter the left go straight up the hill a bit more hills on this trail. This Trail also has man-made bridges for the creek crossings. Just off to the right of the pavilion you will see bushwood Lake. There is a trail leading around. There is a grass path that leads closer to the stream that takes you to the street out and back. Also don't forget there is an offshoot towards the left that takes you halfway around Bush Lake”
