“Really enjoyed our walk today. The trails are nice, clean and paths are clear for the most part. There were several fallen branches, but my kids had fun picking them up and I'm sure the runners were appreciative of that. Scenery is always beautiful in the Metro Parks and we were able to capture some of it.”

Steels Corners Metro Parks Trl

Address: 892 E Steels Corners Rd, Stow, OH 44224, USA

Park

“This place to a great place to bike or walk yet still be by places to eat, but there is not enough nature or civilization for this path to have a real atmosphere; with it being between a highway and a city there isn't much to really define this path. However, it is still a good place to bike and get food.”

Jedd Park

Address: 2275 Pickle Rd, Akron, OH 44312, USA

“A very nice baseball facility with good amenities. The high school level field is good, with a grass infield. Outfield depth is challenging for youth. Base paths are soft and forgiving.”

Silver Springs Park

Address: 5238 Young Rd, Stow, OH 44224, USA

“I take my dogs here all the time. The dog park is large and fenced in, giving them plenty of space to run unrestricted. The pond in the center is deep enough that dogs can swim if they want, but it has a fairly low slope at the edges so they can just wade. There is a separate, fenced off area for small dogs and puppies, and an airlock style double gate to make sure all the dogs stay in their designated areas. The grass is well kept, and the sandy beach area always has plenty of tennis balls laying around if your dog is inclined to play fetch.”

East Liberty Park

Address: 471 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, OH 44319, USA

Park

“Paved walkway along the canal, some wildlife to observe while hiking. My dog certainly didn’t complain.”

Ohio And Erie Canal Towpath Trail Campsite

Address: 2400707, New Franklin, OH 44216, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Free, primitive campground right off the Towpath. If you're not paying attention you can easily miss the sign. There are 3 sites - two are somewhat close together and the 3rd is off by itself a little bit. Sign in on the sheet, maximum is 1 night. As mentioned, tons of mosquitoes so bring your spray or a net. I also had a family of possums travel through my camp in the morning, so you'll definitely get some wildlife. The train runs fairly close by so if you're a light sleeper you'll likely get woken up. Please pack out everything you brought in!”

Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park

Address: 5779 Riverview Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264, USA

Park

“Nice 1.4 mile trail, they offer an unpaved trail to the quarry, and they do a have paved trail that does connect to the towpath and bike trail. It's not a difficult trekking path, although it does have a couple of good 25 grades inclines. Definitely wear a good pair of hikers or trek sandals and grab your poles. They do offer wheelchair accessible parking and paved trail. They also offer out house facilities. Nice legend at the beginning of trail, and along the way, they have markers for information about the quarry. They offer picnic tables, and along the trek, they offer benches for a peaceful relaxation period. If you bring your doggo, be mindful and pick up after them and keep them leashed.”

“One of Akron's best hiking/jogging trails. A 3 mile winding hilly trail that follows a small river. Great all year round but in the fall, spectacular views of the autumn leaves. In the summer it's fairly shaded from all the trees and not bad on even the hottest days.”

Goodyear Heights Metro Park

Address: 2077 Newton St, Akron, OH 44305, USA

“Nice park! A great variety of walking trails to walk on, although there is a tendency to not know exactly where you're going. I would recommend Strava or AllTrails for navigation here.”

Boettler Park

Address: 5300 Massillon Rd, North Canton, OH 44720, USA

Park

“This park is AWESOME!! It has 2 separate playgrounds for older and younger kids. The pkayground for toddlers has a fence with gate all the way around enclosing it for safety. It also has a soft mat type ground. There are 2 ziplines, a "rock"-climbing wall, lots of picnic and bench areas, couple of pavilion picnic areas for parties or family gatherings, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer field, disc golf, walking trails and paths. Bathrooms have always been clean on my visits and plenty of parking.”

Vanderhoof Road Trailhead

Address: 2445 Vanderhoof Rd, New Franklin, OH 44203, USA

“A nice trailhead and features a somewhat hilly path throughout Barberton. Plenty of parking is available, and there are restrooms here too but I don't believe any water fountains are present (or at least I cannot remember any). Great place to walk or run in nature!”

Ariss Park

Address: 2520 Wise Rd, North Canton, OH 44720, USA

Park

“Great dog park so great that we usually drive 20 minutes just to get there usually if you don't want a lot of dogs the best time to go is around 730pm on weekdays -- if you're looking for 10+ dogs to be there then the weekends is the best time for larger groups -- this place is a great spot for your 4 legged family member to run, socialize, explore and tons of entertainment if they are engaging with the other dogs 🐕 always a good laugh when they really get into it and you can tell they are having fun-- not many irresponsible dog owners which is also a plus 😀 we love coming here and will continue to do so as long as we live even remotely in the area”

East Rim Trail

Address: 281 Boston Mills Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264, USA
