“We have two kids at Mizel and we love this little school. The teachers are top notch. The classes are small; the academics are outstanding; and the curriculum is well rounded with art, music, and computers. But it's the little things that make this school so unique like when the kiddos go to the adjacent retirement community to read to their senior citizen buddy or when they sing songs at Friday Shabbat services. Mizel offers aftercare activities like yoga, circus/aerial arts, and computer coding for kids. We are not Jewish but we were welcomed into this kind, loving community and my kids have thrived as a result!”

“When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find an entire cultural center! The museum itself is great. Some absolutely gorgeous glass windows that steal the show. Other than that, there is a robust offering of historical and present cultural history. Average stay is probably about 1-2 hours. If you are one to read everything, expect 2-3.”

“I've been practicing Kendo here since 2010. The only AUSKF and SWKIF affiliated authentic Kendo school in Tulsa. One of the very best instructors I've met and awesome club (no tuition) members to sweat together. Very friendly atmosphere yet with strong emphasis on discipline and etiquette. Great place to forge your mental as well as physical strength.”

“A wonderful very quiet little Park on the grounds of the Zorro complex. Open to the public. The park serves as a Holocaust Memorial with marker for each death camp. But also just a wonderful little place to hang out in a peaceful outdoor environment for an hour.”

“Wonderful place to work out with a wide variety of specialty exercise equipment. Can also play pickleball, racquetball and squash. In the summer they have a swimming pool with a diving board. Very refreshing break from the heat. Friendly staff.”

“I have been taking Aikido under the instruction of Mike Pollak for 2 years. Mike holds the rank of “Sandan”. He has been teaching Aikido since 1981 and I consider him a good instructor. Teaching is focused towards beginners and basic techniques which take years to perfect. The art of Aikido was created so that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury. Size and strength are irrelevant. Aikido techniques consist of entering and turning movements that redirect the momentum of an opponent's attack, and a throw or joint lock that terminates the technique. It is one of the hardest martial arts to learn. Aikido techniques cannot be understood through explanations; they must be experienced and explored. Your progress is 99% related to your sincere repetition of the techniques. ”

“I studied ballet and modern at The Dance and Performing Arts Academy for 3 years of high school after trying 5 or 6 other studios in Tulsa. The teachers are not easy and the classes are very challenging, but coming here was one of the best decisions I made in my dance career. All of their instructors are experts in what they teach and have a tremendous wealth of experience that they bring to the classroom daily. Despite their high standard, I found them kind and interested in what was going on in my life. The main studio is well-furnished with a marley floor and adjustable bars. I would recommend this studio to anyone serious about the art of dance.”
