“This motel has been under-starred. Cindy is a fabulous host. Works hard to keep this place comfortable. Rooms are nice and comfortable. getting improved. Just far enough away from town to enjoy the quiet while on vacation”

“We had our son's rehearsal dinner here in December. The staff was accommodating and helpful in the planning of our event. Our guests raved about the food (steak, salmon & mushroom risotto). The 2 negatives were that the silverware was cheap (thin) & salad forks were part of the place setting when we were having soup as the appetizer. We ate the crab soup (delicious!) with a regular spoon. Unfortunately I didn't notice the salad fork because of trying to get the table runners on after the table was set. I'm sure they would have changed it if I had noticed earlier. Also, I assumed white napkins would be used, so was surprised when I arrived earlier in the afternoon to find red napkins. When I brought this to their attention, they changed to the color I preferred. I wished I had been asked rather then assume I wanted red. I would give them 4.5 stars if I could. Overall, it was a most pleasant evening.”

“Had such an amazing time staying at the Double Day Inn. It's right on the battlefield! The Inn keepers Sue and Greg really make you feel at home. Greg makes a delicious and filling breakfast! There are many monuments right outside. The Eternal Flame Memorial monument is within walking distance and a very peaceful and scenic experience. The room is very clean and cozy and you get a good nights sleep. If you want to stay in Gettysburg The Double Day Inn is the place to be!”

“I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate Liz and Donna at this place! They went above and beyond and made our stay exceptional. They made us feel welcome and as if we were friends or relatives staying for the weekend instead of paying guests. We enjoyed the location. It was peaceful and historical with the cemetery close by. I recommend staying here!”

“We rented a cabin here. Beautiful cabin very clean and comfortable. We even were able to bring our dogs to stay with us. Staff was friendly and accomadating. My kids and I loved seeing the horses. It was so close to the battlefield it made our trip easier.”

“Amazing experience at the Baladerry Inn! Kenny and Judy go above and beyond here and are so incredibly welcoming. The place is immaculate and gorgeous. Judy is an exceptional cook. The breakfasts were to die for! She even granted my husbands crazy request for his 6 egg white omelet. We stayed in a separate house from the main house and loved having a coffee bar and fridge on the first floor so we could help ourselves at our leisure. We also had a room with a fireplace that was super cozy and comfortable. We were welcomed home each night by their adorable lil kitty name Bali. One morning we pulled in to see deer grazing on their front lawn. Kenny’s stories in the am over breakfast were awesome! We loved hearing all about the homes history and how Judy and Kenny came to own it. We highly recommend the Baladerry Inn!”

“Nice park very close to the battlefields. The bath house is awesome offering individual facilities including showers. Very quiet park at night. a little expensive for what you get unless you were there for the activities in the park but overall a very nice place to stay.”

“This was our first time here and we were blown away. I love a good bed and breakfast. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we felt right at home. Upon check in we were welcomed, offered cookies and coffee/tea, giving a tour or the house and then escorted to our room. Craig was very polite, professional and informative. We stayed in the tack room, which was amazing. It was so much bigger and nicer than the pictures. It was a room attached to the barn which was separate from the main house, very private. They had a wonderful social hour from 5-6 where we got to chat with the owners Debbie and Florence. In the morning they have a historian come at 8am to tell some stories about the city while you drink coffee/tea. Then breakfast is served at 9am. They're were a choice of 2 meals. My husband had the French toast and I had the veggie quiche. Both were amazing and came with sausage links and home fries. They was also another table with assorted fruit, yogurt, muffins and cereal. Everything was amazing. I felt spoiled and cannot wait to plan our next stay soon!”

“Came for a lure coursing event with dogs. It was clean and friendly. Room had space for 2 large crates, and came with a microwave and fridge. Owners are welcoming and make coffee on the AM for guests. Some extra TV channels (I watched hallmark Christmas movies). They put us close to the grass and away from other guests so the limited barking while getting In and out of the car didn't bother others. Really nice for the price. Will stay here again.”

“Attended a wedding at RCF last year. The property has been in the family for years, where the barn was turned into a beautiful wedding venue for others to enjoy. Words don't do justice to describe the property -- historic, scenic, gorgeous! You really can't get any better from the barn, pond, house, etc. And the bonus of the sunsets....surreal. I am surprised to read some of the reviews. The owners are accomodating and extremely friendly people who will do anything they can to make the brides and grooms' big day special and memorable. From a bride's perspective, you want an owner who is somewhat involved to help ensure your big day is flawless. The owners almost act as a wedding free coordinator -- which is just another benefit to the bride and groom. I would absolutely recommend this venue to others!”

“The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are really nice. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. I really want to know what kind of pillows these are so I can get some for home. I didn't experience the store being open. The pool is lit up really nice at night and warm. It was great to forget about the snow outside. I would definitely stay here again.. Staff were very helpful.”

“Its very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. No mini fridge but has coffee maker in room. There is also snack/ cafe located near room. Staying on the far side, I'm guessing it's the older side of the hotel, looks as if they are remodeling it around here- there are signs of it anyway.”

“Best price in the area by far! It's pretty quiet especially so close to the road. Tent sites on the right, rv to the left with a large field in the middle, great for Frisbee or playing catch. Fishing/ kayak in a small channel. Tent sites have a small metal grill, ground is grass, was flat and soft. Tons of fireflies (lightening bugs) in june/july, lots of beetles, minimal other insects including mosquitoes which I attract from everywhere. There is a bath house, with shower and sinks, it was clean.”

“The Mary Penn Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem in Gettysburg. It is perfect for staying outside of the crowds but close enough to the battlefield and other history related tours. The grounds are well maintained with deer and fox being a visitor on occasion. I recommend this to any couple looking to get away for a mini week or weekend, those getting married and wanting a small intimate ceremony or those simply wanting another option!”
