“I brought my son and wife to hunt at Gibbon Glade Whitetail Ranch. We had great hunts and harvested great bucks. The lodge is very nice and very clean and comfortable. The food is also very good. The owner, Chris, has extensive knowledge on managing deer and runs an exceptional deer camp. We have hunted in Africa and most Canadian Provinces as well as the western USA and you will not find a better place than Gibbon Glade WR. Thank you Chris and Tommy.”

Tall Oaks Campground

Address: 544 Camp Riamo Rd, Farmington, PA 15437, USA

Campground Park Lodging Store

“Tall Oaks is a wonderful place to be. I got a tent site and it was awesome. The electric worked great. The sites aren’t too close together. The showers are no more than a mile walk from any site. You definitely feel “ back in the woods” at tall oaks and it is so relaxing! Definitely recommend.”

Natural Water Slides

Address: PA-381, Ohiopyle, PA 15470, USA

Park

“Super cool natural water feature. It was a bit chilly to get in the water the day we visited, but this would be an absolute blast on a hot day. It’s also just beautiful. The full slide is definitely more intimidating, but there are plenty of calmer spots of water for younger kids to play in at the top and bottom. Parking can get tight, especially in the afternoons and on the weekends. Would definitely get here early if it’s a nice day.”

Meadow Run Trailhead

Address: Meadow Run Trail, Ohiopyle, PA 15470, USA

Park

“Take a stroll and see the beautiful waterfall and foliage. Look high and low to see what this place has to offer. You will not be disappointed in this walk about. Make sure to have water and a snack, is always a good idea. Bug spray is a must. The trail and rocks can be slippery so shoes with good traction on them are suggested. Dogs are allowed, but must be on a leash.”

Hideaway Campground

Address: 166 Indian Creek Valley Rd, Normalville, PA 15469, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Wonderful, quiet, peaceful family-owned CG. We only stayed one night, but we really enjoyed it, and we would love to return. The family who owns the CG is extremely nice. The grounds are extensive and beautiful, well-kept up and everything is very clean. A small pond, beautiful tent sites, wooded and shaded. OH – the price! Our site was $35 !! Where have you ever seen a price like that for a beautiful CG?! The drawback: no internet, no swimming, very poor phone reception. If there were internet and good phone reception, I’d give this CG 5 stars. For now, it’s 4 stars, but unplug and you’ll enjoy it!”

Wendy World Campground

Address: 629 Flanigan Rd, Confluence, PA 15424, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“My visit to WendyWorld was both fun and informative. Grounds were well maintained and the park restrooms were clean. The manager, Ken, was both friendly and extremely helpful. He gave us a thorough understanding of what and how everything in our motorhome works. The park is adjacent to a eatery with great food and ice cream. We loved our wraps and will definitely return. Ken also gave us information about the Gap Trail, fishing the lake and a beach that's near by. The park is especially popular with the hikers and bike rider's on the GAP trail. There are bunk houses and showers for rider's doing the trail from Pittsburgh to DC. Prices are reasonable and beds are comfortable. I hope you get the opportunity to visit WendyWorld soon.”

We biked the trail, fished in the river, rented a 2 person kayak, swam in the pools, our son played basketball and gaga ball, and the food from the camp store is really good. This place has it all! This was our 1st visit, but definitely not our last.”

“Beautiful waterfall, just a short walk from the parking lot. Lots of great rock scrambles and pools of water to play in. Parking definitely gets limited by the afternoon, with lots of people parking on the side of the street and walking since the parking lot is full. TNT Shooting Grounds

Address: 407 Morris Hollow Rd, Smock, PA 15480, USA

Park

“Hello fellow Sportsmen...and Sportswomen! My name is Brian Katana, my friends call me Mr. Pepsi. I wanted to take a moment & add my personal experiences I had with going to the TNT Shooting Grounds. Currently i am 44 years old...and back when i was 16 years old, my dad brought me to the TNT Shooting Grounds...for a Father & Son Hunting outing for the day, it was awesome! Many, many years passed...you see when i was younger, my dad & i always went to the Grounds to hunt Pheasants & Ducks...whether it was my birthday gift, or my dads birthday gift, etc...we always had that special time. The last time my dad & i went was i "believe" in 2012, my dad gotten Cancer & passed away in 2014. But from our first to last, we NEVER had a bad time. Tom Stewart is the owner, he is a wonderful guy, ALWAYS hard working & he made sure my dad & i, our guests and ALL customers that came were treated with great respect & wonderful hospitality. I added a pic on here of one of Tom's old business cards he gave my dad, lol i found this in my dads personal belongings. My dad & Tom became very good friends, hell one time i remember my dad invited Tom down our way & they stopped by our home, it was a great visit all around. I know Tom has a Son my age, haha everytime we went to the Grounds, he & i would play after i hunted. Cool note, the last time my dad & i went, Tom's son now older took the reins & was our guide! Again great times & memories. In conclusion Tom & his family runs a very professional, safe, educational & all around organized hunting ground. The Grounds offer hunting dogs to assist in hunting if desired by the hunter, and the dogs are very healthy & taken care of too. I encourage all of you hunting enthusiests to stop down...now i believe they have a Sporting Clays Course too! One more note...to Tom's son...if you read this buddy, im sorry dude, lol its been so long ago i cant remember your name...but from one son to another, thanks for bein so cool with how u treated my dad & i. Please tell your dad i said hello & thanks as well. :)”

Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins

Address: 315 Nelson Rd, Farmington, PA 15437, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“This is a large beautiful campground with camping options ranging from cabins, yurts, tent sites, and rv spots with full hookups. It does use well water which has a faint oder, but you are in the middle of the mountains so this wasn't a surprise. The dog park is a nice big open area with a pond close by that has a couple ducks and occasional geese visits (you can see it in one of the photos i posted from the dog park). Lots of places for leash walking your dog too! The rv spots are good size with gravel lots, nice solid wood picnic tables and fire rings. Although we were here in the winter and didn't get to enjoy them, there is a nice playground, gameroom, pool, and mini golf. Good price laundry machines on site. Our wifi worked great, but we were close to the office, so this could vary throughout the park. Plus, it is in a great location to enjoy all of the historical and nature areas these mountains offer. Lastly, the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. It is corporate run, and I think corporate run places are usually more expensive. In my opinion, they should charge about 100 less for monthly rates especially in the winter since most of the amenities cannot be used at this time of year.”

Scarlett Knob Campground Inc

Laurel Highlands Hiking Trailhead Mile 0

Address: Dunbar, PA 15431, USA

Park

“Hiked from mile 0 in Ohiopyle to the Ohiopyle shelters, 6.5 miles in 4hrs. Great elevation changes, great views and the trail was marked well. Shelters are well maintained and firewood was plentiful. Day two, hiked to from the shelter to Rt. 653 parking lot, about 6.5hrs over 12.5 miles. That hike begin straight up for 2 miles and ends going straight up at the 653 parking lot. Overall, a great trail and well maintained by the park system.”

Tharp Knob Picnic Area #3

Fallingwater

Address: 1491 Mill Run Rd, Mill Run, PA 15464, USA

Park Museum

“We rented a cabin near here for the weekend with family. I've always wanted to visit this house so we stopped by on our last day. Tickets were sold out for the indoor tours (they weren't doing many because of Covid), so if you want to do that, book at least a month in advance. That being said, the grounds and outside of the property are incredible. It's such a beautiful house and definitely worth visiting just the outdoor portion too. Plus you can see the inside through the windows. Tickets for that were only $20/person when we went. There are tons of trails you can explore around the grounds too. I'd allow at least 1-2 hours here. It's definitely worth a day trip to visit if you're anywhere near here!”

Indian Creek Camplands Inc

Address: 1150 Mt Tabor Rd, Connellsville, PA 15425, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We will definitely be coming back, they were very nice and welcoming to our group of 4. Our site has a gorgeous view and nice large cleared area for our 2 tents. And the privacy is even better! Finally found a campground you can enjoy instead of constantly hearing neighbors or having a bunch of people walk past you. Highly recommend!”

RoundBottom hiker-biker Campground

Address: Great Allegheny Passage, Vanderbilt, PA 15486, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Nice camp ground along the GAP trail. Contains 2 Adirondacks, 5 picnic tables and many tenting spots with fire rings. The pump here pumps non potable water.”

The Great Cross of Christ

Address: 887 Sr2021, Hopwood, PA 15445, USA

Park

“The cross is Great! You have to walk a long ways up hill to see it and it is on private property. There was a gate across the road so we didn't go all the way up the hill. But it is very impressive and there is a beautiful view overlooking a city, I'm just not sure which city. There is parking available and no cost. It is also close to a battlefield which we didn't have time to check out, but it's something to make note of when visiting the area.”
