Hopwood Motel

Lodging

“I love a good roadside motel. This place does not disappoint. The rooms are dated (that is more about the building than anything else) but comfort and clean. The internet is fast and very reliable. The young man that checked us in was so kind and friendly. He had us checked in quickly. This is a wonder, affordable place to rest your head!”

Alta Villa Estates

Address: 50 Vía Roma, Smock, PA 15480, USA

“Alta Villa is the nicest pre-fab home park you'll find anywhere, the owners and the manager are definitely committed to the park and its residents.. im sure they've helped many get into their first homes that otherwise wouldnt have been able too. You'll have too see for yourself, the pics that are posted on the website don't do it justice. Its a beautiful park, tucked back in the woods off the main road, a very nice place to live!”

“My husband and I love living in this community. It's been almost two years and this is definitely our forever home🤗. Some people have issues with management but if you abide by the rules and don't cause trouble and keep your home well maintained there should be no problems. Mary has been very good to us and when we've needed something done (which is hardly ever) she's been there for us and if she couldn't do it she directed us in the right direction. Thank you Mary.”

Legends Woodland Lodge

Address: Champion, PA 15622, USA

Lodging

“We couldn't have picked a better spot to have our reunion of friends. This rustic lodge has large rooms for gathering, and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms were clean, and most had their own bathroom. The front porch is the star of the show. Russ is the perfect host for this place. He encouraged us to make it our home for our stay. Plenty of land to roam. Centrally located to a number of attractions such as Falling Waters, Laurel Highlands, Flight 93 Memorial. Just a great place for a getaway.”

The Lodge at Chalk Hill

Address: 2920 National Pike, Chalkhill, PA 15421, USA

Lodging

“Great location, property, and service. The rooms are very clean and the linens are fresh and so clean. I do request that the cleaning staff stop leaving the door to the rooms open during cleaning because that allows bugs and moisture to get in which I observed. While riding through the property, empty room doors were open even when there was no one cleaning them. Perhaps add a screen to the sliding glass door of all units and leave that door open with the screen closed to allow fresh air in. Would also recommend some type of food or vending options. None of these recommendations take away from this A1 establishment.”

Fox Castle Bed and Breakfast

Address: 1131 S Pittsburgh St, Connellsville, PA 15425, USA

Lodging

“We stayed at Fox Castle Bed & Breakfast during our first visit to Fallingwater. Susan, the innkeeper, is a gracious, kind, and attentive host. We wanted for nothing—and enjoyed everything! Especially the most comfortable bed I have, literally, ever slept in! We felt very much at home. Susan’s breakfasts were catered toward our tastes and had all her personal touches, including a beautiful tall parfait glass generously filled with delicious, freshly cut fruit. So good! And we loved her husband’s special blend of coffee, too! Fox Castle B&B is one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. I accidentally dropped a pill on the floor, and when I found it under the bed, I couldn’t believe how clean the floor was there. When I complimented Susan, she shared that she vacuums each room every time a guest comes and goes! Susan also gave us recommendations for eateries and sites to visit with vivid descriptions and histories. We loved her stories! It was great taking time to talk with her. She respected our privacy and only spoke with us when we initiated the conversation. Which we often did—most happily! I highly and happily recommend the Fox Castle Bed & Breakfast as a wonderful place to stay on your next trip or vacation!”

Hideaway Campground

Address: 166 Indian Creek Valley Rd, Normalville, PA 15469, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Wonderful, quiet, peaceful family-owned CG. We only stayed one night, but we really enjoyed it, and we would love to return. The family who owns the CG is extremely nice. The grounds are extensive and beautiful, well-kept up and everything is very clean. A small pond, beautiful tent sites, wooded and shaded. OH – the price! Our site was $35 !! Where have you ever seen a price like that for a beautiful CG?! The drawback: no internet, no swimming, very poor phone reception. If there were internet and good phone reception, I’d give this CG 5 stars. For now, it’s 4 stars, but unplug and you’ll enjoy it!”

The Ohiopyle Suites

Address: 28 Sherman St, Ohiopyle, PA 15470, USA

Lodging

“Stayed in "Meadow," first floor, room 102. Made hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill inside the pavilion. Made pizza mountain pies and s'mores in the fire pit. (Both are gas, no need to bring wood or charcoal.) The condo is fully equipped with skillets, pots and pans, utensils, dish soap, dish cloths and towels, along with paper towels, measuring cups, silverware, everything you need if you aren't going to cook outside. (We brought our own mountain pie maker and utensils for the grill.) There was even a bottle opener and a wine opener in the drawer!! There is a coffee shop directly across the street that we visited twice. Resident cat, "Thomas" is super sweet, he even let me hold him! Highly recommend!! Will book again for our next rafting trip. We did the middle Yough and are planning on doing the lower Yough in August or September. (Middle Yough is good for first-timers and small children.) Ordered the chocolate covered strawberries and they were in our fridge waiting for us when we got there. AMAZING!!!! Can't wait to go back!!”

Wendy World Campground

Address: 629 Flanigan Rd, Confluence, PA 15424, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“My visit to WendyWorld was both fun and informative. Grounds were well maintained and the park restrooms were clean. The manager, Ken, was both friendly and extremely helpful. He gave us a thorough understanding of what and how everything in our motorhome works. The park is adjacent to a eatery with great food and ice cream. We loved our wraps and will definitely return. Ken also gave us information about the Gap Trail, fishing the lake and a beach that's near by. The park is especially popular with the hikers and bike rider's on the GAP trail. There are bunk houses and showers for rider's doing the trail from Pittsburgh to DC. Prices are reasonable and beds are comfortable. I hope you get the opportunity to visit WendyWorld soon.”

We biked the trail, fished in the river, rented a 2 person kayak, swam in the pools, our son played basketball and gaga ball, and the food from the camp store is really good. This place has it all! This was our 1st visit, but definitely not our last.”

Karlyn Motel

Address: 2396 Morgantown Rd, Uniontown, PA 15401, USA

Lodging

“Considering the price and status it gets rated well -- definitely comparable or even better than many motels that are double the price. Cleanliness was fair... quality was fair... Obviously it was nothing to shout about if you're looking for real comfort or a typical hotel stay its not for you. But agian, for a cheap motel we were quite satisfied and have definitely seen worse”

Deer Creek Winery and Watson Estate Bed & Breakfast

Address: 234 Balsinger Rd, Uniontown, PA 15401, USA

“This place is amazing! We had a perfect night on the deck. I wish that I took more pictures but I was having such a great time. We saw 9 deer overlooking the field. They have a variety of appetizer plates, pizza, wraps, and salads that were delicious. I cant wait to go back again. I couldn't find a wine that I did not like. I was able to have a generous tasting and ordered a flight so I didn't have to decide!”

Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins

Address: 315 Nelson Rd, Farmington, PA 15437, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“This is a large beautiful campground with camping options ranging from cabins, yurts, tent sites, and rv spots with full hookups. It does use well water which has a faint oder, but you are in the middle of the mountains so this wasn't a surprise. The dog park is a nice big open area with a pond close by that has a couple ducks and occasional geese visits (you can see it in one of the photos i posted from the dog park). Lots of places for leash walking your dog too! The rv spots are good size with gravel lots, nice solid wood picnic tables and fire rings. Although we were here in the winter and didn't get to enjoy them, there is a nice playground, gameroom, pool, and mini golf. Good price laundry machines on site. Our wifi worked great, but we were close to the office, so this could vary throughout the park. Plus, it is in a great location to enjoy all of the historical and nature areas these mountains offer. Lastly, the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. It is corporate run, and I think corporate run places are usually more expensive. In my opinion, they should charge about 100 less for monthly rates especially in the winter since most of the amenities cannot be used at this time of year.”
