“My boyfriend and another couple and I came for July 2017 154th Reenactment. We bought bleacher seats in advance for the first day and arrived early to beat the crowds/traffic. We are in our mid 30s and none of us are huge history buffs, but enjoy learning about history and all wanted to come to this. The whole site itself is pretty cool with everyone in costume and playing their role for their accompanying costume. It is like walking back in time while walking through their markets and seeing their campsites filled with tents. The actually battle reenactment was interesting to see. It was not very loud (thankfully) and it was awesome to hear historical facts regarding strategies, weapons, costume, etc. while watching the reenactment.”

“This is a community park not a museum. Google Maps does not have a scroll down for parks, rail trails, ect. Stupid. Well anyway, Tilden Township park is a small park with limited parking but offering wonderful views of the Schuylkill River and the Route 61 bridge. There are benches placed along the river so one can sit and reflect or gather thoughts. Park hours are from seven in the morning to nine in the evening. There is a sign posting all the rules. I've included that picture in my review. The park seems to be well maintained. The grass cutting crew was leaving just as I arrived. You can probably have a riverside picnic just as long as you clean up after yourselves. Come and enjoy.”

“I would recommend this tour to everyone. The ingenuity of people is remarkable. While the history portion is very interesting and the guides were very informative, as a teacher, the critical thinking and problem solving skills of the Gruber family has me amazed. Taking this tour is a step back in time, not only because of the equipment and restoration, but also because of the detail. Boxes of screws used in the process are still on shelves on the walls.”
