Lincoln Highway Experience

Address: 3435 Route 30 East, Latrobe, PA 15650, USA

Museum

“Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the "Lincoln Highway Experience." I can't believe how nice the facility is and how many times I have driven by without even knowing how great of an experience it would be. There is so much history that I did not know nor did I know that it runs from coast to coast AND is the oldest coast to coast highway. You will enjoy a mix of old and new. The modern section is filled with replicas of the old sites along the highway. Also in the new section there is a Serros Diner replica where you receive a complimentary piece of pie and coffee included with admission. I recommend visiting if you are out of town and especially if you are local. Stop driving by everyday like I did, I really think you will be impressed and definitely learn a lot. Adults $15, Seniors/Veterans/First Responders $12, Under 5 Free. The tour is self guided with a provided listening device. The sections are numbered and everything is at your own pace. I recommend beginning each section at the same time if you are with others. Special thanks to Greeter Stephanie C. and Danette at Serro’s Diner for making the visit special. There is a short video (under 15 minutes) called "Through the Windshield," which tells the story and is well worth watching. I found "Through the Windshield," on YouTube which provides a glimpse into the rich history behind the Lincoln Highway, see link below. https://youtu.be/z_TRYEARc-4?si=QdHQk7gbmboju7mJ”

“What a fantastic tour! Bob and Nick did a great job of sharing information and answering questions. Seeing the equipment run was an added bonus. I am usually extremely cautious about wearing hats that others have worn and loved the fact that we were given hairnets to wear under our hard hats. Visitors were given clean hats that were placed into a “used” bin after use. This a "Don't miss it!" kind of place.”

“It looks great on the outside! And I’m sure it’s really neat on the inside. But they are never open on weekends and apparently they’re now owned by the state of Pennsylvania. I hope that the state opens this museum free to the public on weekends, so that the public can stop in to take a look at some local history.”

“We rented a cabin near here for the weekend with family. I've always wanted to visit this house so we stopped by on our last day. Tickets were sold out for the indoor tours (they weren't doing many because of Covid), so if you want to do that, book at least a month in advance. That being said, the grounds and outside of the property are incredible. It's such a beautiful house and definitely worth visiting just the outdoor portion too. Plus you can see the inside through the windows. Tickets for that were only $20/person when we went. There are tons of trails you can explore around the grounds too. I'd allow at least 1-2 hours here. It's definitely worth a day trip to visit if you're anywhere near here!”
