My family and I have been students at Perin's Tae Kwon Do Center now for about 3 years now. Let me say, it has been a wonderful journey getting to know the Perins and the other students. They are all awesome. Both instructors and fellow students challenge you to be better and do more, but yet encourage you to have a great time. I have seen my son and daughter explode with self confidence because they are now more coordinated, have physical endurance, and know what is expected of them and how to accomplish it.
I cannot recommend this studio enough because of the very family friendly atmosphere and the encouragement to excel. Currently, there are at least 10 families (adults included) that attend on a regular basis. We are looking forward to this next couple of years of practicing with our friends and really, our second family.
Physical exercise, discipline, self-confidence, and fun-fun-fun are what you can expect when joining Perin's Tae Kwon Do center. I personally have seen students that were seemingly having trouble in school be turned around academically and behaviorally. Some even receive notes from their teachers indicating the great changes.
PTC gives you the tools and self-confidence to lead, whether it be in the studio, in the office or workplace, at school, or wherever you may be. I would highly recommended this studio to my friends and family, and once you get there, you will too!!! Pedal to the metal.. right Sabumnim??? (BTW, Sabumnim is Korean for head instructor).
Perin's Taekwon Do Center is the best TKD program I've seen in North Texas. My daughter has been there over a year and absolutely loves it. As a matter of fact I recently started the program as well and I have noticed marked improvements in my stamina and energy levels.
Perin's Tae Kwon Do is a great place to bring your family. We have achieved so much through this center and when my mother had a stroke last year they have been there for her, helping her get back on
track. We attend cardio-kickboxing, home school class and Tae Kwon Do. The family atmosphere has helped us each reach our goals. We love PTC
I'm a 37 year old wife and mom who is employed full time, I'm also in a band and play roller derby, along with taking my 2 daughters to band, theater, gymnastics, power tumbling and cheerleading, I don't have a lot of what some people call EXTRA time. So when my youngest decided she wanted to take Tae Kwon Do, (and I decided to just skip sleeping all together) we needed to find a school that fit into our busy schedules. A friend told me about PTC and I took my 6 year old to her free trail week. She LOVED it and we signed her up. The class schedule had many options and we could go as many times during the week as we wanted, we didn't have to pick just one day. After sitting in the parent chairs for 3 weeks watching the class, I decided since I was there I might as well be doing this with her instead of sitting on my rear! I had just been release from injury leave in derby from a broken ankle so this would also be great therapy for me, too. And I was right. I have become more flexible, my ankle has gotten stronger, I feel great about myself after a good workout in class, and my daughter is thriving! We're making new friends and both learning how to defend ourselves...and having fun doing it! Sabumnim Mike and his family push us to do our best and encourage us and praise us along the way. My 13 year old daughter (who is like, totally, like for real a cheerleader type...like totally) is even considering joining because she sees the fun we have and how Tae Kwon Do has made us stronger and more confident. Thank you PTC for showing us how fun martial arts can be, but teaching us discipline at the same time! In it for life! -The Lacey Family
I had my first experience with Perin's Tae Kwon Do last night and it was so great! I debated trying it for a long time because I can be very timid, and I've always found it difficult to work out in front of others. However, this was just what I needed to get me out of my shell! I also had a lot of preconceived notions about what the class was going to be like- an Instructor screaming like a drill sergeant and belittling me, chaos and confusion as I tried to keep up with what the class was doing, but it was NOTHING like that! Sabumnim Mike, the head Instructor as he is known, was so personable, and made me feel right at home from the moment I walked through the door. He brought me before the class and had everyone greet me and introduced me, and then again at the end of class to have everyone thank me for joining them. They explained that they were a very tight knit group that cared for each other very much like family, and wanted me to know I was now a part of that. Mike demonstrated each move before we started so I didn't feel out of the loop. He motivated us as a group and individually, in a firm but gentle way, which I was so appreciative of. Also there were children present in the class which I was unsure about at first, but in the end it made me feel more inspired to succeed as a student as I watched even the youngest boy, seemingly around age 6, demonstrate a perfect spin kick effortlessly when I was still working on my balance for a side kick. Plus, something about having all of that youthful energy around actually made me push a little harder, even if only to keep up! I was so thankful for the experience Perin's gave me, and for the opportunity to dispel the fears I had about trying the class. I couldn't have asked for a more balanced workout, or for a kinder group of people.
