“I visited the Wheatland Rd. location in Dallas near I-20. As far as the atmosphere,it exuded the usual fast food ambience,if you dare to call it that. Overall, what I could see of the place, it was clean.But that said it had just opened.The employees were as you usually find in these types of cookie cutter establishments,forced courtesy and a "get your food and get out" kind of vibe. All that said,I was actually able to capture one of those rare and elusive Popeye's spicy chicken sandwiches! Admittedly I approached the experience with,shall we say,guarded optimism. But amazingly the legend was true! In my humble opinion the Popeye's chicken sandwich IS better than those other guys who shall remain nameless. It's allure,I believe,is in its simplicity. The chicken was as it should be,crispy on the outside,yet very moist and juicy on the inside. Instead of producing a chicken breast already infused with spices,they put what seemed to be a spicy mayo on it topped with a simple pickle. Simple+delicious=SIMPLICIOUS!”
