“This LA Fitness is conveniently located for people living in the Washington Corridor and the Heights. As the shipping plazas on this stretch of I-10 continue to fill out, vehicle traffic and parking have become a bit more congested, but that's the nature of urban living. As for the gym itself: it's basically brand new and it feels that way. The machines and other equipment are in good shape; the pool and hot tub are well-maintained; the locker rooms don't smell; the bathrooms are kept in good condition; the water fountains don't show signs of calcification and there are plenty of them spread around. The two-story concept is also nice, with cardio equipment on the upper deck and weights on the ground floor. Everyone who works there has been pleasant since I joined back in December after a free 5-day trial. As others have said, I've never witnessed staff members actively cleaning any of the equipment (but I also infrequently see patrons wiping up before or after themselves, so it seems an odd thing to complain about if you really care). I imagine there is a cleaning schedule and I'm just not present during those times. The place can get pretty busy during peak hours--usually Monday through Friday between 5pm-7:30pm, but even then it's never over-crowded; I've never witnessed anyone actively waiting for a machine. The stretching area is more spacious than other LA Fitness locations. I haven't taken any, but classes included with membership are offered regularly and people seem to come out of them with a good deal of sweat, fatigue, and satisfaction. I've only seen one broken machine since I've been there and it has since been repaired. Overall, my experience has been positive. It's also comforting knowing that you don't have to sign up for an annual contract, so if it doesn't work for you, no harm done.”
