“A friend recommended La Unica to us for the tortillas and since we were in Conroe for other business we decided to stop by. We didn't know they served lunch, but since it was lunchtime when we got there we decided to go for it. Glad we did. The food was really good, the portions were big, and las señoras were very friendly and helpful. They were so gracious to work with my Duolingo-based Spanish! Since we were the only ones having lunch at that time I told my wife I felt like we were sitting there having lunch in their home kitchen. It was a very nice change to the pretentious Mexican food and decorations found at just about every so-called Mexican restaurant anywhere, especially the big chains. We will return, even though it will require a drive from our home in The Woodlands.”
