We had a wonderful and peaceful stay in the Valley View Cabin at Brazos House Retreat. The cabin was clean and comfy, with all the fixings for coffee. Our host even brought us some fresh eggs from their hens. We enjoyed petting the donkeys and a nice visit from their sweet dog. Time spent on the front porch in the morning gave us the perfect sunrise. The road to the cabin that we stayed in is gravel and a little steep reaching the top of the hill, so it would not be the best cabin choice for a low clearance vehicle. Thank you to the Myers for their hospitality.
The berooms were nice but a little
small.
The location was great, the access road would not be good for a small car..SUVs and pickups travel easily.
Was able to visit and enjoy the Hillside cabin for just the wife and I. Perfect getaway and this cabin is relatively close to the river. We took our chairs and placed in the river which was maybe 6-8 inches at the time we went. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing 2 nights. Just bring your food. Thanks to Kay and Stan Myers. Gracious hosts
Had the most amazing vacation at BHR. The rustic cabin was perfect for our family. The hospitality was greatly appreciated and we loved every moment of our stay. Everything we needed or could think of was provided. My son had a couple of protectors when we would walk the property.lol...I highly recommend staying at BHR if you need a getaway from the city especially if you have kiddos. Thank you Stan and Kay for making our time memorable. We can't wait to go back!
We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a Spartan race in Glen Rose. I wished I would have had more time to enjoy this quaint & cosy environment. We loved feeding & petting the animals & the peace & tranquility of the property. The hosts were so helpful & accommodating to us. We loved having their dogs visit our 1 bedroom cabin. I would love to return to enjoy walking the trails & tubing during a warmer month. Brazos House Retreat is a hidden gem that can accommodate singles, small & large groups. They went above & beyond for us which including providing home made jelly for my biscuits & fresh eggs from their chickens! Wonderful way to unplug. Fire pits with the sticks to roast marshmellows & BBQ pits were at our cabin as well as a full size kitchen & washer & dryer. Total bliss for 2 days for us!
