“Several years ago, this place saved my birthday when all I wanted was to go tubing but I wanted to sleep late too! The river is low right now, but we went back and they've built on, it's nicer than the "more popular" alternatives and more importantly, the people there are SO nice. General store, very nice restrooms with hot showers- This is THE place when the water gets back up- we floated anyway today and still had a great time. Will definitely go back when their shuttle is operating after some sweet rain :)”

“This is a beautiful park with an extensive amount of things to do, We spent 4 days here and still didn't get around to seeing/doing everything. Of course the dinosaur tracks make for the main attraction, and the dinosaurs were especially amazing for my dinosaur-loving toddler. The Blue Hole was great for swimming, and there was a beach area to set up on. Swimming at Rock Beach was fun too, and the sandy beach area was perfect for relaxing. The river bed was pretty mucky, though, making it less appealing for swimming. There are miles of trails for exploring, with varying difficulty levels. A lot of these trails are shaded, too, which is great during the hotter part of the day. Campsites were roomy and well kept. We stayed at campsite 20, which backed up to trails leading to Rock Beach and river access. Bathrooms and showers were quite nice.”

“Hand-feeding those friendly giraffes was a highlight of our trip to Texas. So friendly, would do it again. Fun how inquisitive the animals were as we drove slowly by. Good gift shop at the mid-point. Middle also has a nice little petting zoo where you can groom the goats. We walked a nice little trail at the rest stop too which had facts about the wildlife. Cheetah, zebra and rhino greeted us on the second half.”

“We’ve been here three times and have had a great experience each time! So much information, so many animals and even hands on experiences! It wasn’t until this last visit in May 2022 that I learned you can access this area for free through a separate entrance. How cool is that?!! Both times my kiddos enjoyed petting and brushing the goats! They are very friendly and safe around even small kids in our experiences there. You can also meet Hamlet the pig, a beautiful emu or two, turtles, birds and more! The area is absolutely beautiful! The walls inside and out line lots of interesting facts about the animals you see there. Tons of great photo opportunities! There is a Dino track outside the entrance that you just check out and a nature trail to the side where we ran into a few wild lizards. This area is right next to Fossil Rim’s gift shop which has an expansive array of items and very clean bathrooms. Off even further is their cafe I haven’t had a chance to eat at yet but hope to do so in the future.”

“We were recently awarded a free 4-day and 3-night stay at Tres Rios Resort, Glen Rose TX. Upon arrival, we were given an appointment for the following morning at 9 a.m. for our 90-minute presentation. The presentation went well, and it began with Katie who explained everything about membership with Ocean Canyon Resorts, and she gave us a tour of the property. It is historical, well kept and quite impressive. We then met Kelly who gave us a detailed breakdown of the overall and long-term value of having a membership. The entire presentation lasted about 90 minutes. After weighing the pros and cons, my husband and I decided that we were not ready to commit to a quick decision, and we declined the offer. Understandably, Katie and Kelly were hoping to make a sale, yet neither made us feel that we were being pressured. We parted ways with a $150 check, as promised, and a certificate for future free nights. We enjoyed the following days camping, touring the grounds, visiting other members, using the amenities, attending the Happy Trails Cowboy Church on site, and seeing what the town of Glen Rose had to offer. Surprisingly, we met many local residents that were members of Tres Rios, and they unintentionally made a pretty convincing sales pitches themselves. This has caused us to reconsider. As we told Katie and Kelly upon leaving, "you'll probably see us again."”

“My husband and I took a little weekend getaway here and it far surpassed our expectations!! A peaceful and beautiful property. Bob and Peggy greeted us and set us up with all we needed! Had a great fire pit, electrical outlet, water spout, and picnic table right by us. They were SO friendly, we loved getting to talk with them and get the grand tour of their wonderful property. They have a big event center/family house going up along with a awesome log cabin! Perfect for a family get away. We will absolutely be back and bring family and friends! Already thinking about a family reunion here!”

“We had a great time at DVRVP. Everything was very clean and well cared for. We saw the owners & their team working hard to keep everything picked up over the holiday weekend. The kids loved the biking area and pool. The dog park area was clean and had fresh tennis balls. I really enjoyed walking down to the river with my morning coffee. It is very easy to see how much the owners care about their property. The easy access to the state park and Dinosaur World was just a bonus. We’ll definitely return.”
