Very quiet state park and nicely maintained
Grew up out here and love helping taking care of it for future generations to enjoy
Very pleasant visit to the Ranger Station, lots of interesting information. Our Ranger took us through all the necessary information and ways to enjoy our visit and set us up for future visits both here and around Texas and more.
My first national park camping. Nice camp layout with large RV sites with full hookups. Lake access with a boat ramp and dock. There are a few hiking trails but they are not marked well. The only maps are at the district office 5 miles down the road. Maps on the park bulletin board would be nice. Some of the roads and trails were closed during our stay and it would have been nice if that was posted also. The park seems to be fairly well maintained.
I was looking for a place to eat my lunch. I stopped by here and picked up some information on hiking trails, camping areas and day use areas. The rangers were nice and very helpful. They have a picnic table next to the parking lot. I enjoyed my lunch and watched the birds. It would have been better if I would have had more time to spend in the forest.
