“The restaurant was clean. We got there around 11:15, and the fried chicken wasn't ready. I was told that it would be about 15 minutes. We decided to wait because it was early. We got a free order of fries for the wait, which made me very happy. The girls at the register were very friendly. The chicken was a good size and juicy. “Went there for dinner. It has been a while since having been there last. The place was updated with a new outdoor dining area made, new party room, and possibly new HVAC system cause it was freezing cold in there. The food was good. Shrimp cocktail appetizer was tasty. The tacos El Gobernador (aka shrimp tacos) were spot on delicious. Sides on the plate were rice and charro beans. The rice was ok, has been way better on other visits. The charro beans were just awesome, best I have ever had from any restaurant. Will definitely be going back for more. My wife had the shrimp Laredo which according to her has been better on previous visits. The rice had never disappointed until today. Pina coladas were ok, not great but not bad either. One recommendation is if you come bring a light jacket as it is quite cold in there. All in all will definitely go back for more.”

My lunch included a mixed-greens and Iceberg lettuce based salad, with sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh broccoli, cauliflower, shredded carrots, and topped with perfectly grilled-and-seasoned squash. I got my protein from a big bowl of lentil soup that included kale and sweet potato... boy I love me some good hot lentil soup! It can't be beat! So, when you find yourself driving Mine's Road, near the Fuel America truck stop, take a lunch break to check out Brenda's... you won't regret it! That's a promise... (10-4 little buddy, I'm gone...)”

“Gate is always closed so be prepared to park on the street and walk to the guard shack. There is a man gate by the corner of the building. Don't be surprised if nobody is in the guard shack though as they have multiple responsibilities and may be driving the yard dog or inside loading. Must have a pick-up number to be let in the gate! I had to slide my tandems to load and they check that the trailer is clean or you will be rejected and given an hour to return with it already clean as this is a food warehouse. I had a 10 am appt. I was loaded at 12 noon. Your mileage may vary. They are bilingual.”
