“The details are what make an experience exceptional. The theme itself shows the owners' goal for a customer's relaxation. The picturesque location, surrounded by rolling hills and a beautiful pond, are a tribute to Emerson's "Nature" and Thoreau's "Walden." I stayed at Walden Hall for two nights this past week and could easily see the time, attention, and love that the owners and staff have put into Walden Hall. The whole team is knowledgeable on the entire area and were able to provide us with brewery, winery, and restaurant recommendations and even discounts. I would highly recommend staying at Walden Hall and can't wait to go back in the future!”

“One of the best ones I've stayed at period From checking in all the way when I asked manager in the morning a late check out. Breakfast was outstanding and parking are no issues here cause parking for semi's, rv's. Would recommend.”

“Excellent value. Rooms are modern and clean. There's a huge outdoor pool with plenty of seating. The free hot breakfast buffet was really good with a large variety of cold and hot options.”

“If the lobby was not under construction, could have been 5 stars. I think its something that you should be warned about. Will have to go next door for my included breakfast. The room, however, is very comfortable and spacious. Huge shower and pillows are labeled for firmness. Comfy bed!”

“The rooms were clean and all of the staff were very helpful. My mom is handicapped and has some special needs. Angela and Mrs Bull were very helpful and have done everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Culpeper”

“Clean rooms and bathrooms, very firm beds and pillows, lackluster breakfast, stellar customer service. We were on the third floor and heard yapping dogs next dogs the first night. Went to the front desk, asked if they allowed pets, as a pug walked past me, and the receptionist kindly offered to move us not only into a different room but upgraded us to a suite - above and beyond kind. Breakfast is eggs mixed with peppers and potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles or yoghurt. Parking is free but tight and the hotel is in a decent location. All right in all not a bad deal but you may want to grab some rolls from the local bakery for breakfast.”

“What a delightful find! Former restaurant owner/ chef husband and wife team move to the country to run a bed and breakfast and a chef's table. Chef is a lover of food and very creative with the 3 course dinner set menu available. Adorable and great experience.”

“My husband and I booked this place for one night because we went to a wedding in the area. The furniture is a little dated and the rooms need a paint job but it was clean, the person at the front desk was friendly, and we were happy to come to a comfortable bed and shower after a long day. It was worth the price we paid last minute. I recommend it if you're just spending one or two nights.”

“This quaint little Air BnB right in the heart of downtown Culpeper was just the perfect spot for us to stay during a family wedding weekend!! Well kept, and perfect for adults and even small children. The host is super easy going, and very accommodating! We loved being so close to everything, and getting all of the perks of a full house, without having to pay the premiums of a hotel stay. Would absolutely recommend, even if you just want to get away for a weekend date or something like that. We would love to stay here again!”

“We stayed in the Butler Suite. It has its own exterior entrance and porch. The B&B is peaceful, cozy, and historic. You can hear the trains, but they are not loud enough to be annoying. The B&B has its own parking, so you can drive. You can also take VRE or Amtrak. The B&B is a safe, easy 6 minute walk from the train station.”

“I cannot sing high enough praises for Rixey Manor and Ben and Isadora. The venue is absolutely stunning and from the very beginning Ben and Isadora make you feel like family. They are super responsive, accommodating, and have a lot of expertise to offer. They also did an awesome job making sure everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. The ballroom has a lot of windows and natural light which was perfect for an indoor winter wedding. The space feels cozy and intimate and we loved all the different rooms available for our guests to mingle. Beautiful large property with plenty of options for outdoor photos.”

“Okay, so I went on a kayaking trip with two friends after graduating college and they saved our butts. We started at Kelly's Ford and we're attempting to make it to Motts Run in two days. It's probably very doable if you're just paddling. We were fishing and camping as well. Needless to say, we didn't get anywhere near far enough and after two days only made it as far as the outfitters/campground. We had a novice kayaker with us who took a couple of spills with one being serious and wanted to just stop and get out at the campground. I got out on some private property that I mistook for the campground just before the campgrounds kayak launch and hiked through the woods on the gravel road for maybe 30 minutes to an hour trying to find someone to help me get back to my vehicle at Motts Run. Finally I came up to the Rappahannock River Outfitters and met Ryan. He was a complete blessing and helped me get back to my friends and get to the kayak launch at the campground. By sheer luck, his wife ended up bringing my friend and I back to our truck on her way to work back in town. I couldn't believe how gracious they both were and how lucky I was to be helped by them both. A huge storm was about two hours behind us and had we not got off the river we may have been seriously injured or even killed. I don't think I can ever repay them but I can share this experience. They are SUPER knowledgeable about the river and what you need to fish it. They know where to camp and have the equipment to make a great trip. They know what the fish are hitting on and where to stop and fish at. I wish I would have called them before starting on my trip. It would have been the world of difference. Thank you Ryan for all your help and for being so kind. I can't wait to see you again when I schedule my next trip to through you!”

“We LOVE Rappahannock River Campground! My husband and I got a bunch of friends and family together there for a reunion and we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful and you can camp right alongside the Rappahannock River -- plenty of soft spots for tents. There are picnic tables and fire pits, and they sell firewood there so you don't have to pack that or worry about collecting it. The outhouse is nice and clean (and close to get to, but it doesn't detract from the natural scenery). There is potable water readily available, and even showers if you want. I had the best experience with the owner, Steve, from beginning to end. He was easy to get ahold of and answered all my questions. He made sure that our large group had everything we needed, and he was super friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to having our reunion there again next year!”
