“Interesting and different from the usual trails in the NY - NJ - PA area. Looks like a forest, but you are mostly walking on sand, and the Cypress trees are in swamps / bogs. Cypress trees were particularly interesting because of their surface roots. Clean trails, well marked, easy to follow (more so with AllTrails on your phone). Plenty of bugs earlier in the morning on a summer day - bug spray highly recommended.”

“We call it the blue park. It has swings and a play structure with slides and monkey bars and a bridge. Also a covered picnic table and a large open field for soccer games or football or frisbee or maybe even practicing your chipping skills for golf. There is on street parking most of the time, but it is near a school so some school hour parking is restricted. Almost never crowded.”

“Love this campground! If you are in a tent, the closer to the water, the better. Otherwise, you can hear the noise from the road. We have stayed in 169 and 186, loved them both. There was shade, a lot of room for the kids to run around and play in the sand. The picture is from site 186.”

“Outstanding Dinner! We waited more than 25 minutes for our food but, the food was delicious. The server was attentive and we even got a free round of drinks as compensation for the waiting time! The background music was great selection from the 80's. The outdoor scenario was perfectly beautiful with the board walk, pedestrians, tricycles and the ocean further down just like in a movie.”

“This is a natural gem at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. So much history and so much to learn. Rare and unique ecosystems with beautiful wildlife. There are over 19 miles of trails here. This is a great way to get outside and connect with nature so close to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The spanish moss forests are very enchanting. Bald eagles also live in this park. This is a very natural dynamic place that everyone should visit.”
