Newport House B & B

We had such a nice visit here, staying from the 27th-30th of December. The room was clean and comfortable and they allow children, which is hard to find in a bed and breakfast. Breakfast was very tasty. The best part though is Cathy and John, who had such wonderful stories to tell and had such enthusiasm for the area and for history. They made us feel like family. We would love to come back.

Wonderful, relaxing place, the proprietors are marvelous hosts rich with fascinating stories of our American origins both entertaining and genuinely illuminating. We loved every minute of our stay, will come again, and will send our friends.

The Newport House is a nice, clean B&B within walking distance of many attractions. Rooms and accommodations were good and the proprietors we're friendly with a wealth of knowledge on local history. We were walking distance from plenty of places for food, drink and shopping with wildlife making appearances along the way. Good place to stay.

In July, 2015, I stayed two nights with my brother and parents, and the experience could not have been any better. The owners, John and Cathy, have an encyclopedic knowledge of Williamsburg, the Founding of the country, the field of architecture (with John having published multiple books on the subject), and history more broadly. Of particular interest is John's penchant for designing and building ships - functional, full size historical replicas of sailing ships. One of these was used during the filming of the contemporary movies "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Master and Commander". If you want an unforgettable experience in Williamsburg, stay at the Newport House.
