Our Special Harbor Spray Park

Address: 6601 Telegraph Rd, Franconia, VA 22310, USA

Amusement park

“Really great place for the kids. Can get crowded so we try to arrive a few minutes before they open. Lots of fun water toys for the kids and gets them used to being around and playing with water.”

Kings Dominion

Address: 16000 Theme Park Way, Doswell, VA 23047, USA

Amusement park

“Great park with a wide variety of rides and coasters! All 14 coasters were good. I especially loved Project 305! We went today (Wednesday) and the park was dead, probably due to the weather forecast. The longest line we stood in was only 5 minutes, which probably isn't typical. All the food we ate was good, the employees were friendly and it was a great day. Ride operations were decent, but could definitely use some work. Some of the rides need a little paint and TLC. Overall everything was great and I would definitely go back.”

Ocean Breeze

Address: 849 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451, USA

Amusement park

“Ocean Breeze is an amazing water park. They have plenty to keep you busy and good food options. I love the way the park is set up and that they offer complimentary life jackets for all children that may need them. I felt safe letting my 12 and 13 y.o. children walk to the slides by themselves, there was ample Lifeguard, employee and security presence around the area. The wave pool and lazy river were great as well. The appearance of the wave pool looks like "the beach", that's a nice touch. I like that the depth is not too much, parents can walk through the lazy river with their kids if they don't want to float. The price of admission is reasonable in my opinion, compared to other larger theme parks. I recommend renting a Cabana if you plan to be there all day, well worth it. The Cabana offers seating, a table, television, curtains to pull for privacy, a ceiling fan, mini fridge with about 4 cold bottles of water included. The total for 4 tickets, with Cabana rental was about $400. We did order food and drinks in the park at an additional cost, which again in my opinion is fair pricing compared to other big theme parks in the area. I definitely recommend this water park if you visit the VA Beach area.”

Water Country USA

Address: 176 Water Country Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Amusement park

“In a world where customer service is on the decline and employers cannot retain good employees, Water Country USA bucks those trends. Our visit on Sunday July 17 couldn’t have been better. The park was clean and well staffed by friendly, hard working employees. The staff at WC seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, the customers and coworkers. I’ve rarely visited any business where employees exhibit such good cheer. The staff on the rides were especially good at joking with my semi-nervous niece thus putting her at ease. The absolute standout was James at Traveler’s Treats. He is such a kind, efficient person. This was the strongest team effort I’ve ever witnessed at WC and also the best customer service experience I’ve had anywhere in the past two years. Expectations were exceeded by a mile. Thanks for a great day.”

“Great family experience!! We checked into a cabin on Friday @ 4PM and left the following Monday around 1030AM and all around everyone with us had the best time. My husband, myself, our 3 year old, 17 year old, and my parents all came for the trip and did not leave disappointed. The cabin slept 8 and was very comfortable. The only suggestion with the cabin is more trash bags and a broom. We did a guided tour during a Hiking/crafting activity scheduled and really enjoyed the knowledge Denise had. The pool was great with the basketball hoops and swim up bar. You couldnt keep us off the adult water slides and the kiddie pool was perfect for our 3 year old. Shopped way to much at the general store but it was super convenient. Did not eat at the restaurant on property. Grilled at our cabin or went to local restaurants. Being able to rent a golf cart for a great price was also a great feature. We understand that the campgrounds are still under construction and look forward to visiting next year. I do wish there was a gym. I am an avid runner so I enjoyed early mornings around the site, the weather was perfect for it.”

One large pool for kids from 1ft to 2ft and another large pool for grown ups that goes from 2-3ft to 5ft. 3 different slides to ride on and lots of big umbrellas with tables fot picnic. Entrance is a bit tricky. There’s no signs pointing to an entrance, you just figure out....”

Skyline Caverns

Address: 10344 Stonewall Jackson Hwy, Front Royal, VA 22630, USA

Amusement park

“Skyline Caverns was wonderful. The gift shop is adorable. The caverns themselves are very interesting. Not as big as other caverns, but they kick up the fun with several colored lights. They also have some unique mineral formations, and under ground streams. The staff is also wonderful. They have a "wishing well", but I didn't have any change on me. Our tour guide Josh was kind enough to give my kids a few pennies to throw in. It only cost a few cents, but it was really a huge thing for my kid. He was also very funny, and very patient with our group.”

Creepy Hollow Scream Park

Address: 14437 Stone Horse Creek Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059, USA

Amusement park

“I went here last night with my boyfriend. We are big horror people and don't scare easily. Creepy Hollow Scream Park was an absolute blast! We got scared by the great actors and awesome special effects. Also all the mazes were so much fun to navigate. It took us about an hour to get through. I think the price of admission is extremely reasonable for the amount of detail and scares this place offers. I also think it's so cool they made this in the woods. I will def be back again! Amazing fun time.”

Dinosaur Land

Address: 3848 Stonewall Jackson Hwy, White Post, VA 22663, USA

Amusement park

“This place has been around for awhile, since my husband was a kid! We returned to take our dinosaur loving kids (3yo and 1yo) who absolutely had a blast. Went on an October morning and had the place essentially to ourselves! We loved that we could get up close, touch the structures, run around, and take fun/silly photos. Some dinosaurs could use some fresh colors but honestly it sort of adds to the nostalgia. New models have been added and that was cool to see/touch. We loved the space and the large trees that added to the whole experience. Large gift shop with tons of items littles will be crying for, so parents brace yourselves. Pricing is fair and staff is nice. Plan your visit to last 15 minutes for the faster paced individuals to a hour for the leisure enthusiasts. I would recommend this for younger kids and dinosaur lovers. Easy walking for all ages. Laid back short stop in the Winchester area.”

Kings Dominion

Address: 16000 Theme Park Way, Doswell, VA 23047, USA

Amusement park

“Kings Dominion has plenty of ultimate roller coasters and fun rides. They keep it classy by requiring park goers to be fully clothed after exiting the water park, something that I appreciate. They have cirque performances in their theater, something worth viewing. Come Halloween, they will deck the park out with awesome haunted things for decoration. Lots to do, lots of fun. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my visits.”

The Flying Circus Aerodrome

Address: 5114 Ritchie Rd, Bealeton, VA 22712, USA

Amusement park

“I stopped by and spoke to Joe who told me his really cool story. He worked his way up from being a volunteer to wing-walker (yes, while the plane is flying) to pilot! Very cool! I'd love to stop by again to learn more about the other people who work (play? ;-)) here and recommend you do the same!”

SplashDown Waterpark

Address: 7500 Ben Lomond Park Rd, Manassas, VA 20109, USA

Amusement park

“Great water park! I highly recommend the season pass, especially if you have school age kids. Big slides, a lazy river to beat all lazy rivers, and plenty more to do. There is an area for small kids as well, it’s just not very well enclosed, which makes me a little nervous.”

Atlantis Waterpark at Bull Run

Address: 7700 Bull Run Dr, Centreville, VA 20121, USA

Amusement park

“Went on a weekday so it was not crowded. Fun place for kids, lots of slides. Plenty of life guards on duty, even for a weekday, so that was nice. Bathrooms are somewhat small and the cleanliness is as expected for a very used public facility. Seating all around - chairs & lounges. There are a couple of those giant umbrellas to sit under, but those go quick. It looked like they have a section to a shaded grassy area but it was not open at the time. They have a big sand box for small kids to play in but you can see a lot of sand carried over into the pool near it. No outside food or drinks allowed except for water and the small Nathan's cafe on site was just ok. Not super pricey, but not cheap. $1.50 for a juice pouch - ouch. They ran out of the refillable souvenir cups. I would definitely go again, but not sure I would attempt a hot weekend when it could be crowded.”

Launch Trampoline Park

Address: 13348 Franklin Farm Rd, Herndon, VA 20171, USA

Amusement park

“Wonderful, true 5-star experience! Clean (and I’m picky with cleanliness and honestly was amazed at how clean the facility as a whole was), well laid out (especially while attempting to keep tabs on a bunch of little kids), organized, and SO friendly! The birthday party experience was also top-notch. They party “planner” given with the party package makes the party flow seemlessly with little to no stress on the parents. I honestly couldn’t of asked for a better experience.”
