“The institute is a non profit that offers retreats and has its grounds open to the public. This review is for the trails visited though after eyeing the cabins and the grounds, I'm looking at signing up for a retreat. Went here for a group hike and it was a lovely, relaxed walk through multiple short trails. Mostly gentle incline except for the steep Goat trail. Lots of tree roots to watch out for to avoid tripping on the hike but other than that, its safe for older and the littlest of hikers. No restrooms onsite but downtown Langley is just a few minutes drive and has public toilets. Recommended for families with little kids, older adults, and individuals looking for a meditative hiking experience. Dogs are not welcome on the trail. Plenty of parking available.”

“Incredible experience! This was my first time to Rumours Salon and it was great! My stylist was Dena. She was kind, knowledgeable, and understood my hair texture. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she was able to cater the cut to fit me perfectly. “Great little brewery just off the ferry in Clinton. They had a big selection of their own taps (something for everyone) and a couple guest taps. There is a food truck outside for food and they have trivia and other events during the week. Very nice people too! I definitely recommend this spot and can't wait to visit in the summer.”

“Insulating a metal stock tank with marine vinyl fabric over foam insulation works great! This photo was taken around 1995 and the whole setup is still in good shape in 2022. What I like most about the the combination of vinyl, foam, and metal tank is that it's very light so easy to move, it's easy to keep clean, and it's inexpensive and durable. My cabin is in Southeast Alaska and I visit it several times a year for a several weeks at a time. When I depart it takes me about 30 minutes to disassemble the plumbing, remove the stovepipe and rinse out the tank. I flip the tank over and slide it into the cabin by myself no problem. With the insulation, I can leave the tank hot at night and it's ready for a morning soak with little or no fire (depending on the outdoor temperature). That saves a lot of firewood. If you go this way, I suggest following Island Hot Tub's "Instructions for Making a Soaking Tub Using a Metal Stock Tank". For the tub's drain I just use a tapered plug like you'd use in a sink rather than a valve, much simpler. The metal tank/Chofu setup has been so much fun for my family and kept us all clean and happy off the grid for 20 years with zero problems. Can't ask for more than that.”

“bagel factory is the best bagel place in the world. do not let any lower star reviews fool you, bagel factory is the best. I miss being able to watch the bagel machine but the quality of their bagels always makes up for it, and don't get me started on their delicious flavored cream cheese. I wish they had a location on the main land but this just gives me another great excuse to go out exploring on the island on my days off, because nothing beats a fresh bagel from these guys.”

“Our family had a different house booked for Christmas but, at the last minute, lost it. I was scrambling to find a place big enough for the 22 of us. Carrie and Tessa were amazing! They worked so hard to make our last minute Christmas get away work. They answered all my questions so fast and clear and accommodated all our requests. They went above and beyond with personal touches to the house based on comments I made about our family. The driveway was hard to see from the street on the dark and rainy December nights. Carrie and Tessa went out in the rain and the dark and hung beautifully Christmas lights down the driveway. Not only did it help us see the driveway at night but it also added to the magic. We love Christmas lights! We were all so sad about loosing our original house but The Quintessa completely met our expectations. The only thing that would have made our stay absolutely perfect is if it had snowed. It snowed a couple days after we left. There are a lot of things to do on the island and the house had brochures so we could look at the different options.”

“My right rear turn signal went out and having heard good things about them, I called Simmons to see if they could replace it anytime soon. Much to my surprise, anytime soon was just a few hours later. Clearly this was a very busy garage with rigs parked all over. Despite that, the guys took me right away and in no time had me back on the road. They only charged me for the new bulb as they said what they did wasn’t really labor. Everyone was friendly and now I know where to take my ride when something more complicated goes wrong! Can’t say enough good things about Simmons!! Lisa”
