“Greeted right away. Kind of a dive bar/Cafe with a great view. Best House made chips I have ever had. Halibut was meaty and fresh, Not over seasoned. Price was not bad at all. Would be a regular here if I lived locally.”

“They have outdoor seating and a solid beer menu. The hazy IPA is absolutely fantastic, and the dark IPA is good too. They have a list of local delivery places that you can order from, as well as a selection of chips and free popcorn!”

“Reminder to be kind to customer service employees and if you are complaining about a $1 CC charge you probably shouldn't be buying teriyaki. The cashier did a wonderful job taking our order after the customer in front was so rude. Portion sizes were alright I think adding some more rice under the meat portions would help supplement. We bought chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, and vegetable yakisoba. They all tasted delicious. I'm giving 4 stars because portions were small in my opion for the price.”

“This is our go to at least once a week. We love the teriyaki chicken combos, gyoza, Szechuan beef, and friend rice. The kimchi is the absolute best. We usually call and our order is ready within 30 mins to pick up which allows just enough time to peak into one of the surrounding stores. Thank you Mr. Steve!”

“Food was delicious, chorizo burrito had a nice amount of spice and the tortilla was perfectly cooked. Carnitas tacos were delicious with a good ratio of protein to onion/cilantro. Staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive for an order-at-the-counter place, however the staff do handle clearing the table. Definitely a go-to spot if you're in the area.”

“If you're looking for a restaurant with great food and amazing service, look no further than El Toro Restaurant and Cantina. My family and I always return to this gem while trying to escape heavy traffic on the freeway, and we are pleasantly surprised by our experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere, which set the tone for the rest of our meal. Our server was incredibly organized and knowledgeable about the menu, making suggestions and answering any questions we had about the meals. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious. From the mouth-watering tacos to the flavorful enchiladas, everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. And to top it all off, the portions were generous, leaving us feeling satisfied and happy. Overall, our experience at El Toro Restaurant and Cantina was fantastic, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and exceptional service. The next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be stopping by again!”

“Stopped in for lunch. First time here, food was good and the service was nice too. No one else was there during the lunchtime hour. I asked for cashew nut chicken minus the mushroom and bell peppers but extra celery, but was charged for substitution which I didn’t know until I got my bill.”

“I sure did take my little brown self in here. Not one regret. I was treated so kindly and shown around. One lady pointed out to things I may like and told me how to prepare it. I got distracted by the massive feta-dill-onion pastry. It wasn’t until I spent $30 getting sprats, German bread, tangerine juice and strawberries (not part of original plan) that I realized I never even went to the café side, Marvel Cafe (look for my review there) which was my original plan. 🫠 Now I have to swallow my pride and shamelessly go back in there because I’m not leaving without trying another pastry or their coffee. 🫣 наслаждаться!!”

“No walk in or sit down dining. Was little disappointed as we were there for the A&W and wanted to sit down and have root beer floats after our dinner. We settle for a drive through meal and some smoothies wich were very good just wasn't what we hoped for. Food and service was very good nonetheless. Would eat here again.”

“Straight-forward down-home diner with a simple menu and set-time specials offering a solid deal. Only issue was waitress brought me home fries when I ordered hash browns. Not enough to send it back but something simple. Food was exactly as expected. Nothing to write home about but filling and hits the spot. Interesting they have a separate bar in the back as well that was being put to good use.”

“Magnificent golf course in a beautiful property overlooking the bay and Olympic National Park mountains. Very fun to play, fair amount of forgiveness off most tees. Ball really rolled the day I played but this was after a dry spell. Last 6-7 holes are truly incredible, also 8/9/10 is a great stretch. Practice area very good. Intense 18 walk but you gain the blessing of experiencing the whole property.”

“Nice quiet location on the edge of Sumner by itself we got here probably 7::45 on Sunday morning and we were only the second people in there and the staff there were just so friendly and nice, it was such a warm welcome. We use the entertainment book coupon, so we got $10 off one of our meals which was nice, and the food was great we really enjoyed it and the portions were a pretty good size. I don't know how you can give this place bad reviews as we just had a really great time, we thought our food was really good, so we recommend it.”

“This place is a gem! I ordered chilaquiles and I asked them to make them a bit spicer than normal and THEY DELIVERED. The tortillas were crisp till the very end even with all that sauce. Served with delicious refried beans and sunny side up eggs, topped with Mexican sour cream and cotija cheese, this is the perfect representation of what homemade chilaquiles should be. I was also provided with 3 other salsas just in case. Although I didn’t need them, I tried them all. There was red Chile de árbol salsa which has a great roast flavor. The second one was a green Tomatillo salsa which has a great flavor. The third one (my fav) was a salsa de Aguacate. Lastly, their Chile in oil salsa already on the table was off the charts. That stuff goes well on anything. The coffee was exactly what i had growing up in a Mexican household, instant coffee ready to mix with a hot cup of water. In my honest opinion, the costumer service was great and lots of love and effort went into putting together one of the most iconic yet simple Mexican breakfast dishes ever. **update - the beans there taste like my mom’s homemade refried beans. Amazing!I have not found any other beans in the PNW that taste like they should”

“I love the Bair. We’ve had breakfast here a handful of times-it’s always great! Recently i hosted a baby shower at the Bair and it was perfect. It’s such a cute spot, great space and decor and the owner Sara is so great to work with. This place truly is a gem and i highly recommend stopping in to eat when in Steilacoom or hosting a special event here.”

“On a whim we decided to go here instead a fast foot joint and I’m glad we did! What a cool place in an awesome location. Plus the food is super tasty and was cooked crazy fast! They also have a fun selection of glass bottle drinks (non-alcoholic) that my kids loved. We will for sure be coming back here in the future!”

“The staff here was amazing and sweet like their donuts!! We visited in costume for our free Halloween donut and a young man surprised my son with a fresh donut that was designed to match his costume!! We were impressed with our above and beyond experience!! It is our family tradition to go to Krispy Kreme for holiday donuts. Thank you for your wonderful customer service!!”

“This is my second time to this place. Once by myself during duty and once with my wife on a lunch break. 5/5 on this review may seem like "come on, really?". This place deserves the 5/5 from my experience being there two different times with different orders. I've ordered before the Won Tons, Spam and Eggs Noodle, and as pictured, the Shrimp Tempura Sushi Burrito. Every single time I've ordered there was at least a 10-15 minute wait, but you can't rush delicious food. The food and taste are made to order and do not disappoint. This menu is not meant to be rushed and churned out on a whim. Go to the other side of the BX if you are in a hurry. If you have spare time to burn, I highly recommend you put it into this place. Today, I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Sushi Burrito. They had a long line and kept going for at least 30 min after I ordered. The service was friendly and attentive. The waitress was polite and with the orders and service, she was overwhelmed, but she continued to be professional and assisted everyone. She even went out of the cashiers box and read the menu to an elderly couple who wanted to order. When I got my food....wow. The Sushi Burrito has so much flavor and presentation. I could not believe that this type of food was available at the BX. Not knocking on the other restaurants, but variety with flavor is much welcomed. The Tempura was warm and crispy with the outside being fresh and solid. The sauce was amazing and not overwhelming. After having a few bites, I ordered another To-go for my wife. When she came home, I threw it on the air fryer for 5 minutes and she was happy with the flavor and disappointed she didn't eat it fresh. I recommend this place hands down. This type of food at a military base is amazing and I want the best for this business.”

“Had a great experience! Great food and reasonable prices too. My brother and I had orange chicken, chow mien, Mongolian beef and bbq pork fried rice. Our favorite was the Mongolian beef and the fried rice. The food and service we had were great will definitely be back for more food.”

“Average Popeyes, good food but the line for the drive thru is always super long from 1130-1300. Most other times you can get in and out within a few minutes but if you try to during normal lunch hours, be prepared to wait around 20 min. Staff is friendly however and they work hard to cycle people through.”

“Went in to do a little work outside of home. They have a single staple bike rack which is better than nothing but while I was there, 3 other cyclists rolled up and had to babysit their bikes because of lack of accommodation. After enjoying my coffee, I went up for a food item and a cup of water. The barista remembered my name from 2 hours before and gave me a large cup, it was very appreciated, I wish I had caught her name.”
