Optimist Park

Address: 1330 N James St, Tacoma, WA 98406, USA

Park

“This is a beautiful park with a decent baseball/kickball field. There are swings and a playground for the little ones. There is also road parking and benches available for sitting. If the field were better kept, it would have been a 5 star rating. Otherwise, this is a solid park and I'll be back for more playing!”

Brookville Gardens Community Park

Address: 6512 Valley Ave E, Fife, WA 98424, USA

Park

“Great spacious 15 acre park. Great for families DVD individuals. Please pick up after yourself. Garbage is garbage. It's your duty to. Relax in a clean space with so much to offer. Follow the rules, be respectful of others regardless if you just talking, singing and laughing or smoking. Kindness goes a long way to making all of our lives happier.”

Timber Creek Farm & Forest

Address: 8413 170th Avenue East, Sumner, WA 98390, USA

School Park

“I cannot tell enough great things about this place. It’s magical. It is like the kids’ special place, where they are free and encouraged to be themselves. The kindness and care of Matt and Tinneca is something out of this world and the kids who attend are kind, polite and great friends to my daughter (who had no interest in kids until she started). I wish there were classes for adults (seriously though!) or at least I wish my girl could attend until she’s off to college! To learn and to love nature surrounded by friends and people you trust, that’s the way this place works. It’s a blessing and a gift.”

Donkey Creek Park

Address: 8714 N Harborview Dr, Gig Harbor, WA 98332, USA

Holiday Park FamCamp

Campground Rv park Lodging Park

“Nice military campground on JBLM. There are plenty of spacious sites in a shady forest. Sites with hookups can be reserved and dry sites are available on a first come, first served basis. We stayed at a dry site for a weekend, so the shade trees were nice. Fresh water and a dump station were available on site. The only downside to staying on an Air Force base was getting woken up by aircraft on the nearby airfield! Access is limited since it is on a military base.”

Van Lierop Park

Address: 7999-7529 134th Ave E, Puyallup, WA 98372, USA

Park

“This looks like a little park for the businesses/homes near it. The girlfriend and I were driving our pup around because that's what he likes when he wanted out to play now. We did a Google search of what was near us, since we don't know this area very well, and this came up. Plenty of benches, a cute swing, and a beautiful landscape was what was waiting for us. Brutus, our pup, loved the walk, as did we.”

Lakewold Gardens

Address: 12317 Gravelly Lake Dr SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, USA

“Absolutely serene. There's something there for all walks. The building and architecture work inside is absolutely stunning. The grounds are as well. It's totally worth letting go of a few bucks to just walk on the mossy trail barefoot. The staff are amazing, happy, friendly people. There are restroom facilities there next to the gabizo. See photos.”

Silver Creek Riparian Zone

Address: 1043 12th Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371, USA

“This is an excellent restoration area that contains a section of Silver Creek. It appears a lot of work went into restoring this area to its natural state. It is a healthy riparian ecosystem. There is a stone/dirt path that traverses the preserve. There is a wooden bridge. There are interpretive signs. It is a portion of the Puyallup Loop from Clark Creek. There is no parking or facilities. It is an excellent preserve and am grateful some people put in a lot of work.”

She assisted her in getting comfortable with standing on the ice & moving around being on the skates. Comfortable enough so she could then go on with the assistance of the scooter. She was great in talking & helping the kids. They felt very comfortable with her .”

Park

Scott Gallacher Memorial Splash Pad

“Great park and splash pad combination. Plenty of free parking and green space as well as a trail for hiking. The splash pad has seating all around with covers as well as a retaining wall and steps to sit. The park has three different structures for different age groups with a gazebo available for party rental. The only down side is the prevalence of bees 🐝 at the park. Will definitely go back.”

Bresemann Forest

Address: Military Road &, Bresemann Blvd, Parkland, WA 98444, USA

Park

“Good collection of trails among the trees and creek. Unfortunately a lot of trash and abandoned campsites- primitive trails have way more trash. Turtles and waterfowl abundant along the creek. Can see Mt. Tahoma on a clear day. Free parking near the gate. Free dog bags and trashcan just inside fence near climbing rock.”

North Beach Park and Private Boat Dock

“North Beach Park is a signature part of Herron Island. With the playground for kids to have a blast on, to the beautiful beach with a northern view. The (Private) boat docks are also well maintained. There is a fire pit and a community center within the park. All in all just a beautiful park with fun for people of all ages.”

Thornewood Castle

“I was a guest of a wedding here. The venue was absolutely gorgeous. I was unsure which staff were from the castle and which were a third party, so I cannot say much about food or lodging. The wedding was very personalized and it appears the castle was very accommodating with that.”

Gonyea Park

Address: 13204-13298 J St S, Parkland, WA 98444, USA

Park Gym Health

“Our first visit to this park was during Nike Soccer Camp! By the time we got here, it was clean and ready for the kids to play. It was an entertaining playground for the youngest. Lots of space between the different sports fields and courts for all to enjoy!”

Springbrook Park

Address: 12601 Addison St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, USA

Park

“Feels a bit sketchy with adults walking through the park and kids finding beer bottle caps all around (as well as a plastic syringe). Otherwise nice playground and garden. Wish it was taken care of more and accessible.”

Victor Falls City Park

Address: 18212 Rhodes Lake Rd E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391, USA

Park

“Extremely difficult and dangerous terrain to repel to get down to the bottom of the falls, unless you have the right gear for it, of course. It's blocked off with fencing, due to a 100 foot cliff, and a teen fell approximately 100 ft. in July and had to be rescued (not the first fall, definitely won't be the last I'm sure). I was told there is another route from downstream to see the falls at the bottom, but I believe it is a private road to get to Fennel creek, otherwise only photos will be from the park side above the falls. The park is fine, a few benches and picnic tables, can bring your dog, but it's fairly small. For the above reasons, I can only give it 3 stars.”

Rainier View Park

Address: 15603 Meade McCumber Rd E, Sumner, WA 98390, USA

Park

“Just happened to stumble upon this park while we were in the area. Fantastic plays structures for both little and big kids! No bark surface so you don’t get splinters (rubber mats). There is an awesome climbing wall and rope merry go round, and multiple kinds of monkey bars and slides. Shaded spots to bring a picnic lunch or watch the kids, and nice and quiet the day we went (a beautiful sunny day).”

Ft. Steilacoom Park

Address: 8714 87th Ave SW, Lakewood, WA 98498, USA

Park

“Love the dog park here”

Scott Sumara Memorial Tree

Address: Tacoma, WA 98409, USA

Park

“Lots of trees. Awesome playground for the kids. And well kept”

Nature Park & Trail

Address: 621 W Yew Blvd Kp N, Lakebay, WA 98349, USA

Park

“Nature park… A park filled to the brim with beauty and nature. Home to a .15 mile trail going through the park. The park is somewhere to get a breath of fresh air, deer watch, or take a walk. With a couple benches placed in the park, it allows one to sit down and read a book listening to the sounds of nature. Nature Park is a hidden treasure of Herron Island that I recommend checking out.”

South Hill Community Park

Address: 14201 86th Ave E, Puyallup, WA 98373, USA

Park

“Ample parking with quick access to the field, playground, and loop trail. The park is well taken care of with very little trash compared to other area parks. Benches and trash cans along the trail are great to take a break in nature and get rid of your dog waste along the way. Everyone was very friendly, exchanging pleasantries as you pass. Great spot to walk with the dog.”

Roosevelt Park

Address: 3601 E Roosevelt Ave, Tacoma, WA 98404, USA

Park

“It's a great little neighborhood park, it's just a big field of grass, good for walks and ball games. It would be nice if there was a little more to do here but it is pretty clean and it would be nice if the doggy bags were restocked. I'm just waiting for the city of Tacoma to freaking repave the roosevelt Avenue since they did all the other surrounding streets.”
