“I went here with a couple of friends to go crabbing. It was my first time, and I hope it was not my last time. There is a dock for fishing, crabbing, and chilling. There is a small beautiful park nearby with parking lots. A public restroom near the Marination restaurant and a Water taxi stop along the coast. We enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather while waiting for the crabs, which was a great experience. I took the Water taxi nearby for a 15 minutes round-trip to Downtown Seattle and enjoyed some peaceful time while onboard. If you come here for fishing/crabbing, don't forget your licenses. I highly recommend this park and the outdoor activities in this park to anyone. I hope you come home with a big smile on your face Updated: I recently returned on Aug 28th, 2022, on a beautiful Sunday morning. I got many crabs 🦀 more than I expected. What a fantastic and memorable experience!”

“I very much enjoy trips to our local state parks. They have something for everyone! You can camp, swim, launch your boat, crab, fish, whale watch, or hike the numerous trails. I take my dog there regularly and we like to take the trail from the state park to Cama Beach. It's a beautiful place to take in the surrounding beauty alone or with the whole family!”

“Great hike that’s not too far (from Everett), it’s fairly flat and has lots of beautiful old growth. It ends/loops around by the river which is a nice spot to picnic and enjoy a snack at before hiking back. There were others we passed on the trail but it was not at all busy.”

“Home to fine sand beaches, art-deco style architecture, a busy boardwalk with many street vendors and an active nightlife, Miami's South Beach is in fact much more well known, famous and entertaining than Herron Island's South Beach. Instead, this beach greets you with a rocky surface abutting a significant cliff, and it requires a steep walk down to access it. But once you make that journey, it's riches unfold in front of you. Washed up logs, rotting seaweed and broken crab shells accessorize an expansive view of the south Case Inlet. At low tide, when the water is clear, looking just to the southwest tip of the island, you can see the top of one of the sunken ships of Captain George Vancouver's expedition, the first to discover this magnificent island. The shipwreck is full of sea life to explore and is a prime spot to find dolphins (and sometimes orcas!) hanging out.”

“Decent parking (no pass required at our time of visit). Great trail conditions. TRAIL GAINS ~2,000’ very quickly: you’ll get a good sweat going. (Driving to the top is an option, too!) Views from the top are beautiful. Two views, north and south, give great perspective on the whole Puget Sound. Overall about 5 miles and 3 hours around trip if you include the southern view point.”

“This place has a good quality play structure for kids as well as a community garden and a few nice walk paths that loop through some quiet trees. It's gotten more busy since they added schools nearby, but it's still my favourite nature spot to run to when I just want a break from crowds & concrete. It's a good place to unwind.”

“A cute little park with a dock leading to public moorage, a boat launch, and a small beach (which ends on each end in private property). The beach is Rocky and has lost of barnacle covered rocks and shells, so barefoot is risky. Small grass area and a few picnic tables. Decent parking - bring your Discover Pass (Washington state parks pass, $30/year) or pay for parking at $10/day. If you don't have a pass and want one, they are available at the Fort Flagler offices or from shops in town.”
