Table Bluff North Parking

Address: Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Cross Plains, WI 53528, USA

Park

“An absolute gem of a hiking trail so close to Madison. You'll walk along the Ridge of a hill for a good long while and eventually get to the south parking lot (I just did this as out and back but I suppose you could have a two car system). The trail was in fantastic shape and there were minimal bugs. Great flowers along the trail. The trail was consistently shaded for those hotter days.”

“We need way more of these amazing community projects!”

Tower Hill Park

Address: 5610 Cheryl Dr, Fitchburg, WI 53711, USA

Park

“I had a child care gathering at Tower Hill Park and rented the shelter for the evening. It worked out nicely. The kids loved the play equipment, there were enough picnic tables, the bathrooms were stocked with soap and toilet paper, and were pretty clean. This kids used the ball diamond for some kickball, and there was plenty of room to set up bean bag boards. The only small issues we had was a wonky outlet that we had to jiggle a bit to get our power bar to stay on, and there weren’t any instructions on where to turn lights on, and whether they should be turned off upon leaving. Other than that it was a perfect location and set up for our picnic. Would rent the shelter again.”

Olin Park

Address: 1156 Olin-Turville Ct, Madison, WI 53715, USA

“I am a wedding photographer and photographed a wedding at the Olin Park Pavilion in August 2023. The pavilion is such a great budget-friendly outdoor wedding venue. The park has an excellent view of Lake Monona and the Madison skyline. You can choose which outdoor location in the park you want to hold your ceremony. I would definitely recommend booking your wedding ceremony and reception here!”

Pilgrim Park

“Clean secluded area where you are not on "display " to public road. Well maintained, good variety of play areas for kids: climbing, slides, swings (toddler up to adult), and a covered picnic table. Nice neighborhood, felt "safe" there. Family oriented.”

“Nice big area for walking or running. 2 baseball diamonds for practice or games. There's playground equipment. There's also a large field on the other side of the diamonds for soccer or other activities. It's a great place to do yoga!”

Midtown Commons Park

Address: 1310 Waldorf Blvd, Madison, WI 53719, USA

Park

“Nice big open Park. My only complaint is the no dogs allowed in park is not enforced other than signs. But don't get caught in the park because it's like a $200 fine. You're not even allowed to walk your dog down the sidewalk in the park.”

Norman Clayton Park

Address: 6402 Piping Rock Rd, Madison, WI 53711, USA

Park

“Nice neighborhood park. UPDATE: New playground equipment autumn 2021. Very nice! Also improved the path to the playground, easy access now for wheelchairs wagons stroller from the road. Playground equipment always in good repair. Tennis courts are ok. A new-ish pavilion with picnic tables. Water fountain spring-summer-fall. Good lawns and located along the Greentree walkway park that connects to the prairie restoration and pond at Elver Park. No parking lot but plenty of street parking. Ignore the dope sellers and their customers and they'll ignore you :-)”

Mazomanie Bottoms State Natural Area

Address: 101 S Webster St, Madison, WI 53703, USA

Park

“Beautiful nature and great paddling venue. However, the fishing was only so-so. Not surprising since a cold front had recently passed through.”

Raywood Park

Address: 420 Acadia Way, Verona, WI 53593, USA

Park

“Cute little park in a quiet neighborhood. The equipment is all in nice repair, it has a picnic table, and an open grassy field that is mowed regularly. It's not top of the line playground equipment, but it does the trick and is entertaining for little kids. Definitely worth checking out if you have little ones.”

Churchill Heights Park

Address: 4402 Diloreto Ave, Madison, WI 53704, USA

Park

“Lots of open space. Interesting play structure for younger kids. Nothing too high or challenging. No monkey bars or climbing equipment for older kids. No shade near the play structure.”

Orfan Park

Address: 2050 St Albert the Great Dr, Sun Prairie, WI 53590, USA

Park

“My kids actually stumbled upon this park. Very enjoyable!”

Westwynde Park

Address: 855 Eddington Dr, Sun Prairie, WI 53590, USA

Park

“For being considerably smaller than nearby parks, Westwynde still has a lot to offer all ages, from toddlers to adults. The playground equipment has a great variety and offers learning opportunities for letters, numbers and shapes. There’s also full court basketball and a sand volleyball pit in addition to a smaller size shelter at the center of it all.”

Elvehjem Park

Address: 1202 Painted Post Dr, Madison, WI 53716, USA

Park

“Very expansive park with plenty of options for activities. The tennis courts could use some maintenance, to be sure, but otherwise the playground equipment is in great shape, there’s a decent baseball diamond, and a large flat field perfect for frisbee, soccer, football, etc. The shelter is maintained really well. I don’t understand the large scale lighting for the field. With no bleachers, no painted turf, or anything to suggest there organized sports being played here at night, I would be interested to know the back story of this park.”

Morrison Park

Address: 1451 Morrison St, Madison, WI 53703, USA

Park

“The Christmas tree forest on Lake Monona is a wonderful destination. Walking across the ice a little tricky, with slushy spots, but the views were glorious! This is a Madison experience sine qua non.”

Mazomanie Oak Barrens State Natural Area

Address: 9749 County Hwy Y, Mazomanie, WI 53560, USA

Park

“I second everything in Jodi Anderson's post. Nice if you are looking to beat the crowds and have soft prarie ground under your feet. Sure some of the trail is a mowed path through the woods, but that part connects the amazing lake/marsh system in the more center of the area. There aren't trails but are paths in which others have slightly worn and can follow if paying attention. Was the only person there for 3 hours!”

Empire Prairies Westport Drumlin State Natural Area

Address: Waunakee, WI 53597, USA

Park

“some great management going on here now, with regular Rx fire. Lovely spot, and a nice walk in to the main site.”

Slater (William) Park

Address: 561 S Segoe Rd, Madison, WI 53711, USA

Reindahl (Amund) Park

Address: 1818 Portage Rd, Madison, WI 53704, USA

Park

Brandt Park

Address: 4601 Siggelkow Rd, McFarland, WI 53558, USA

Park

“Beautiful park! We had a birthday party there & used the pavilion. It was clean, spacious, with a kitchen area to get things ready & with big counters for snacks & the main course to be set out. No crowding there! There were plenty of nice picnic tables set out, yet there was plenty of room to walk in between them. There was also room for lawn chairs for those who chose to do that instead. We had a gorgeous, but not obnoxious wind blowing through the pavilion the entire afternoon. The restrooms were spacious and very clean. For the kids, there was a play area within close proximity to the pavilion so we could keep an eye on them. Overall, it was a good experience & we would have another event there again!”

Has big parking lot with sidewalk to the park about around it. Wheelchair accessible. 3 picnic table areas with cover for shade plus extra ones in sun. Lot places to sit on. Not any big trees by park but they did plant some small ones. Would be great place to fly a kite.”
