In season farm work is physical, fast paced, time sensitive, muscle building labor. Yep. It’s also a joyful labor out in nature, making good food possible with a crew of fun and fascinating folks from many walks. The farm had several returning crew from prior seasons. “Great local place with wide selection. The spirits department is better than many available nearby. Lots of fresh fruit and organic/local options. Overall it’s a 4.5 because the prices can hurt a bit, but it’s the closest and biggest option for sure. Plus your plates can be renewed right up front in a machine. Very handy to not have to mail out and wait for a sticker.”

“The Legacy of DeForest is an amazing place. My father moved in Dec of 2019 after a hip replacement due to a fall. They were brand new. He was one of 5 people. He wasn’t ready to move out of his home. The staff made him feel welcome from the day he moved in, until the day he passed in August. They keep them active, and busy. He loved it there. They are a loving, caring place who treat their residents like their own Grandparents. I would highly recommend them!!”
