“I LOVED this museum! Tom Mix memorabilia throughout, as well as a short movie about him in the old west. Full of saddles, guns, hats, boots, whips, pictures, even a full size statue of Tom with Tony, his horse, near the entrance! There is also a picture of the Cord automobile he died in. It was highly enjoyable, and I will be going back!”

“A good start on a work in progress, the Rock Island Railroad Depot will be something for Fairbury and Jefferson County to be proud of as it grows. The ladies there were very nice and knowledgeable. A collector has donated 30-some large boxes of model trains and related equipment which will be displayed in a room currently being renovated on the 2nd floor. It should be impressive when finished. There's a modern working elevator for easy access.”

“Really interesting museum with lots to see. It's more than just an oil museum. The museum has displays of early settler life in Butler Co., Kansas. The physical displays of oil exploration devices are incredible. On the day we visited, docents were firing up an oil drilling rig. When I have thoughts of oil (if ever I do) I think of Texas. This area of Kansas was a major player in oil exploration and production. To a non-native Kansan it was a real education.”

“Very cool. Several air force one aircraft are on display. A majority of them are open and have walkways that allow the visitors to view the interiors. The walkways through the crafts are surprisingly tight, as plexiglass walls line the aisle ways to preserve the contents. Wonderful exhibit. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time, as you may find yourself burning several hours and not even he halfway through all of the exhibits.”

“Awesome. I'm not an airplane buff, but this place was great. It is much better than I expected. The planes are massive. It is wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff. Admission cost is by donation from $0-whatever you want. Planes, jets, rockets, helicopters, bombs, bombers, history, simulators, multiple former Air Force Ones, the least goes on and on. Suggest you plan to spend a minimum of 4 hours. The museum is spaced out over four (4) airplane hangers. 100% indoor. There is a Cafe upstairs with a small selection of hot food, chips, drinks, pre-made sandwiches. This is basically above the gift shop. There is also a smaller snack shop upstairs near the rockets. Much smaller.”

“An awesome tour, chandelier started shaking and no one was moving that made the hair rise on our arms. With 11 known spirits and 1 cat it's possible to have an encounter. Most of the house felt relatively normal but the upstairs bedroom to the left there wasn't a good vibe coming from that room. I'd say definitely worth the tour and if you get an opportunity to stay the night, it'd be once in a lifetime.”

“A nice little homey museum, only open about 2 hours a week, or you can call to make an appointment. Plenty of old-timey stuff, but you find out much more when you talk to the docents, who know a lot about the town. The building was originally a library, built with money from the Carnegie foundation.”

“Over 100 years of Santa Clara History The Harris-Lass home belonged to two families in its tenure in Santa Clara. I had the pleasure of touring the home with the President of the Historic Preservation Society of Santa Clara, Bob Byrd. If anyone knows this home, it is Mr. Byrd, whose knowledge of it is nearly as extensive as those who resided in it. The tour through the home takes about 90 minutes, no photography is permitted within the house. Guests are permitted to take as many photos of the grounds as they wish as well as to visit the other buildings. The collection of period materials is one of the most extensive in the valley as the grand-daughter of Captain Lass, left nearly everything she had in the home when she departed. Her parting wish was to have the home preserved for future generations under the governance of the city. Thanks to her generous donation and the work of the preservation society, we may all show our appreciation.”

Address: Sandwich St., Windsor, ON N9C, Canada, Canada
“A very attractive addition to the historic Sandwich neighborhood. Developed by the Port Authority of Windsor, the outdoor marine museum was recently opened with trails, art installations and murals depicting the history of Sandwich town. The area now is quite impressive and there is adequate lighting to walk around the park even at nights. Definitely check this quiet spot out next time you walk by there. Very informative and makes us cherish the value of the historical neighborhood. The park is marked by a giant anchor that is installed facing Sandwich Street.”
