“Very nice conservation center with spacious enclosures for the animals. We truly enjoyed our time there. You have the opportunity to ride or drive to see the animals. We drove through first and then walked. Spent over 3 hours here and could have stayed longer but had to start our drive to Homer. We were there at the right time to hear a concert of howling by the wolves. We loved seeing that all the animals were well cared for. Staff were helpful and informative.”

“Beautiful and clean campground. A great host who went above and beyond to help out campers when the lower sites unexpectedly and suddenly flooded. We had a wonderful stay, despite mother nature's curveball, and are already planning our next trip in the new year.”

“This is an amazing Nordic ski trail system. No dogs are allowed and they are vigilant about grooming. It is well lit for evening skis and offers paths for all skill levels. The scenery is fantastic, especially on a bright day. There is plenty of parking at the Chalet or Chugiak HS (you can access the system at either location). Volunteers with the Eagle River Nordic Ski Club and Eagle River Parks and Rec. take great care of this area and residents are very lucky to have such a wonderful place to recreate right in the heart of the community.”

“Cute little park, lots of picnic tables. Bathroom was not bad, with a neat little shelter. Playground area is adequate. Lots of planes coming and going just overhead from runway across the street. Dock is not useable.”

“Amazing place to ski, just outside of Palmer, AK. We took ski lessons from Melinda and she was fantastic. We learned to ski and felt comfortable, after never skiing before. She was so great! Recommend a lesson with her. The hills are great and everyone was so nice! Great place to check out. Loved the time we were able to spend here.”

“I love walking through these parks always seeing neighborhood people walking their dogs or out bicycling or skate boarding, roller blading with their children or grandchildren or just young friends classmates or neighbors. No near sightings so far in the area but do be cautious of this area because 2 black bear cubs have been spotted around eagle street and 22nd Avenue. Play Out & Play Safe = ENJOY 😉”

“Great place to have for the doggos to go especially in the winter time! There are dog toys and obstacle course for the dogs to play, or just a nice large warm room for them to run around and play with one another. The initial dog fee isn't what I'd call cheap, especially if you're bringing one dog only (but in all honesty when I first heard of an indoor dog "park" I'm thinking why would I pay money for that but AK can get cold - and the pups need indoor play time!) but for a group gathering, it's well worth it! This is my first time here but I think you likely get the whole room to yourself with the reservation - so note - if you are bringing your dog in hopes to meet other dogs, please be sure to contact owner Amy to see if that's an option. They have classes as well! Amy is responsive via her online reservation request form and coordinates all by email. It's easy to go over an hour, just a warning!”

“So much space for the ambassador brown bears, complete with pond and mini cabin. The many viewing areas give visitors great views of the bears playing, swimming, and napping. The elevated walkway is a great addition to both the black bear and brown bear habitats. Good signage. The don’t miss area of AWCC.”

“I've been camping in Alaska for over 20 years and I am amazed that I have never been to Finger Lakes State Rec Area. It is such an awesome little gem of a campground right in between Palmer and Wasilla. It's beautiful, clean, spacious, and quiet. And there is a boat launch for the lake, which allows motorized boats. You can fish on the lake or off one of the two docks. Fishing is supposed to be decent, but my friend and I had zero luck catching anything. The reason I gave 4/5 was the price of the campsites are really expensive per night ($25/$35 per night for tent/premium camping). I think the high cost becomes a bit prohibitive for the average camper and there are more cost friendly options along the Wasilla/Palmer Highway.”

“This is our new favorite place to camp that's close to home, but very quiet, and the restaurant is just as awesome... Fishing, swimming, boat rentals, and day access... Best of all, the one time, that Google Maps leads you to the right place!!! And no google maps, the Campground is not a Building... and it's actually the second left, that you enter, not the first, but thank you for your valiant effort, we all need Google Maps, Lol-ing...Very excellent Family Place, thats how they treat you here!!! We will DEFINITELY be coming here again, that's for sure!!! Thank you, Fox Run Lodge & RV Campground for an Awesome Weekend, And Thank you, Dianna Simmons for an Amazing Birthday Gift 🎁 ❤️ ♥️ I love you !!!”

“I highly recommend stopping here. It may be a drive but it is beautiful on the way there. Keep in mind it is up hill. You pay for parking and optional tour. But they do offer a yearly pass. This place is so peaceful and rich w history. There's plenty of parking and they have bathrooms here. Picnic tables can be found in the lot for food. Things to mind: Weather. Water. Your shoes. And bring your bear spray. Yes you tourist. Be safe not sorry. The mountains are their homes. Please be respectful here! There are signs w warnings for a reason.”

“I grew up in Willow, and Camp Ladasa is where we came to swim. So much has changed in 30 years. The main lodge looks good. The property has been rehabilitated. Cabins are nice. Even the waterfront has a facelift. All in all, does not resemble the place we visited as a kid. But it is a nice camp.”
