McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Address: 18333 N Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, USA

Park

“Great spot to hike, bike, or just immerse yourself in the Arizona landscape. There is the convenience of ample parking, clean restrooms, and no fees. Trails vary in length and most are dirt once you stray from the visitor center. Trail maps were easy to navigate, as were the trails, making this a great spot for family or casual hikes. It is a vast, quiet area for those looking to add distance. Highly recommend visiting. Check the website for organized group events.”

McDowell Sonoran Preserve Gateway Trail

Address: 18333 N Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Park

“The Gateway Trail is a very easy hike (really a walk) that just about anyone can do. It's very flat and you will see people of all ages walking on this trail. We used this trail to get to other trails in the area, so we didn't do the complete Gateway Trail loop. The entire area is quite new and very nice. There are some trails where you end up in a neighborhood (a very nice one), which we didn't really love. The entire area is worth exploring as there are really a ton of different trails for all different types of skills. Great parking lot, tons of spots and new, clean bathrooms and facilities. This is a great place to enjoy the desert.”

Gateway Trailhead - McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Address: 18333 N Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Park

“Great hiking options from here. I had 3 little kids (all 5 and under), so we just did the easy 1/2 mile loop, but it was great. The path is stroller friendly, and the sights are varied enough to keep kids interested/excited the whole time. The info panels throughout the loop are great as well. Plus, there was a guide at the trailhead that was extremely knowledgeable. Plenty of free parking.”

Desert Spring Park

Address: Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Park

“Nice little park with a lake inside silverleaf community. I do not think there is public Access to this park.”

Scottsdale Ranch Park & Tennis Center

Address: 10400 E Vía Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258, USA

Park

“Our family really enjoys going to this park on the weekends. They have the best jungle gym I've ever taken my kids to, a good deal of parking, and events like movie in the park every now and again. It's even got a large beach volleyball court! The only negative I can think of is how uneven and patchy the grass is in some areas of the park - it just doesn't look like it is constantly tended to.”

Camelot Farms

“I miss that place”

Two Waters Circle

Address: 9000 E Chaparral Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, USA

Park

“So get this I am sitting here minding my own business and I start to do some yoga poses. I really was focusing on my lower back and hip region. I close my eyes and take a deep breath to center myself. When I look up I see this big green face with a scowl on it staring down at me. It is none other then Arty the Artichoke. He tells me "Get up boy and hit the gym. Stop doing this pansy yoga stuff in my garden!"”

Scottsdale Community Garden Club

Address: 9000 E Chaparral Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, USA

Park

“This place is the most magical community garden that I know. It is so peaceful early in the morning, late in the day and weekends. Fellow gardeners are right there ready to help each other out, standing around talking and sharing tips. There’s tons of wildlife like quail, rabbits, owls, and even the rare coyote. You can grow nearly anything in these rich soil beds and the food that comes out is better than anything you can get in a store. I just love coming here and seeing what everyone is growing.”

Westworld Trailhead

REI Co-op Adventure Center Arizona

Address: 17465 N 93rd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Travel agency Park

“my wife and i booked a half day hike + half day kayak with this outfit. They did a fantastic job, a home run. They chose a great location for our hike in Tonto, tough up and down, some gnarly terrain but a great challenge and rewarding to get it done, a real sense of accomplishment. They provided us with two excellent guides, Owen and Missy which was perfect, a ying/yang guide combo. After a great morning hike, they supplied a hearty and yummy lunch, then kayak Lower Salt River. A nice peaceful way to wrap up the day. Loved the trip, I want to move to Arizona. I highly recommend this outfit.”

Terrace Homes West Park

Address: 21771649, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Park

“Except for the ants, scorpions, and constant over-seeding, this place rocks for neighborhood get-togethers. Open containers are allowed and encouraged, and as long as you don't play Ed Sheeran, feel free to blast your music without being judged. Oh, and make sure your cooler has extras to share.”

Apache Park

Address: 1201 N 85th Pl, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, USA

Park

“Nice park just desperately needs more dog sanitation stations.”

Gradyland

Address: 9319 E McDowell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, USA

“The food was excellent and the service phenomenal. The red salsa tasted a little off, more like pizza sauce than salsa. But everything else was delicious enough to make up for it. Definitely will visit again.”

Park

“My brother and sister works there that makes it nice not to mention the owner Bobby great neighbor it keeps a really nice clean”

Scottsdale Sports Complex

Address: 8081 E Princess Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA

Park

“Beautiful complex. Been here twice. It's always clean and organized for soccer. Fields 1-6 are on one side of the street (I believe south) and the rest or on north side. Bathrooms on both sides and large signs that show field numbers. (Especially if my sense of direction is off).”

“The signage here sucks huge! I travel over here for youth soccer. I'm not from around there. ????On a positive note, fantastic okay grounds! An better lightening is NECESSARY- way to dark and dangerous and it is only 6:30!”

Chaparral Park

Address: 5401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250, USA

Park

“Amazing park! Just spent an hour work my little one on the playground - so many different types of equipment. The tandem seeing was particularly fun for me and my daughter. Beautiful lake, wonderful walking trails, such a nice park all around.”

Chaparral Park Aquatic Center

Address: 5401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250, USA

Park

“Amazing pool. Clean, well staffed, and inexpensive. I would avoid going at peak hours in the summer if you are there for lap swimming. In the winter, and early mornings you can practically have the whole pool to yourself. Great for people training for triathlons and what have you. I have been going here for a year or so, and I have never used the little weight room. I have poked my head in there. A few dumbbells going up to 60lbs I think, and a bunch of machines. It looked well equipped for some light lifting. All around good place for serious athletes. There is a small water park for kids. I don't have any children, but it looks like it would be a good place to bring them for an inexpensive summer outing.”

Chaparral Training Field

Address: Scottsdale, AZ 85250, USA

Park

“This is one of the largest soccer fields I've seen so far. It's right next to the Chaparral Park/ Lake. There's at least 2 or 3 sets of soccer nets so multiple games can be going on. The lawn there was also very well-kept- not overgrowing and clean of any litter. The area, however, is currently closed for maintenance. Downsides are there's not much shaded area and I don't recall seeing any bleacher seats while walking through here. I only spotted one picnic table...”

Crossed Arrows Park

Address: 6102 E Acoma Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, USA

Park

“Nice park. Attended youth soccer games here. Not much parking.”

Eldorado Park South Building

Address: 1909 N Miller Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, USA

Park

Eldorado Park

Address: 2311 N Miller Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, USA

Park

“Nice park! I lived here when it was first built and have watched it grow over the years. Good place for a walk, riding your bike, fishing or just sitting and enjoying life. Good place for having group events and family gatherings . There are lots of wild life to see, ducks, herons, squirrels and birds ... just be kind to them and watch but don't disturb or feed them. Lots of parking and handicapped parking as well. In October the City hosts an awesome Halloween event for the kids.”

Osborn Park

Address: 7775 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, USA

Park

“They have revamped up this area with more workout machines. They have pullup bars, pushup bars, balance bar, parallel bars. The texture of the new pullup bar is not smooth but rather bumpy, and I think that is to help with grip. I wish they had more parking. They do what appears to be street parking but I didn't know if I would get towed away since the park is right in front of houses. Also, if you want to use the parallel bars, it's right next a busy road, so um- I suppose, if you don't mind making a public performance... ;) The park is pretty small and it will take you about 5 minutes at a slow pace to walk through it, but I love all the nice exercise equipment. :D”

Sereno Park

Address: 5720 E Sweetwater Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, USA

Park

“Sereno is one of my favorite places to bring kids. There is enough play equipment for littles and school agers alike. The best part is the horse corral closer to the intersection. Kids love seeing them and some owners are nice enough to let you pet them”

Papago Rotary Park

Address: 7316 E Garfield St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, USA

Park

“It's a bit too small for my liking, however it is conveniently located in a housing community area- so close walk for those who live nearby. Also, it it is kept very clean. My favorite part in this park was the one with the rings dangling from the bars (similar to the ones you see in gymnastics), and you can use them to do front flips and back flips. Just keep in mind- there is very little shade in this park and so during the summer, the slides can be pretty hot.”
