Labyrinth at Chandler Presbyterian Church

Address: 1900 S Arrowhead Dr, Chandler, AZ 85286, USA

Park

“A nice place to spend some contemplation. Walking the labyrinth helps me ignore the rest of the world to think about my thoughts. The rock surface provides a light crunch at every step. The interesting rocks that line the path catch the eye. The birds and breeze emphasize nature. I’m glad the church provides this for the community. And, there is a small, memorial, stone bench at the labyrinth start in case you’d just like to sit.”

RJ Dog Park at Pecos Park

Address: 17010 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85048, USA

Park

“Absolutely LOVE this dog park. I just moved from Ahwatukee a couple weeks ago but during the 3 years I lived there I brought my dog here several times a week and always had a great experience. They have a good amount of space to run around, there are always balls out there for them to play with and big buckets of water to drink, and there are several tables to sit down at that are shaded by a big ramada. Everybody is really good about cleaning up after their dogs and all the ppl I've met there are wonderful. Even at its busiest it never feels over-crowded. There are 2 separate gated areas, one for small dogs and one for big dogs, and they both sit in the corner of a larger grass field that is nowhere near any main roads or busy streets. Every time I took my dog there, as soon as we'd pull into the parking lot she would go crazy with excitement.. she LOVED that park and all her doggy friends there and we will both truly miss spending time there every week. I highly recommend this park to anyone wanting to take their fur babies out to play and socialize with other dogs, they'll have a blast! I would honestly give it 10 stars if I could!!🐾🐶❤ *P.S. - If your dog enjoys playing in the water and/or swimming, Google the Cosmo Dog Park in Gilbert. It's a beautiful little beach for dogs with a large pool to swim and grassy fields for them to run. You can thank me later ;-)”

Indian Point Campground, Tonto National Forest

Address: Tonto Basin, AZ 85553, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I was there for a night shooting stars but ran into a cloudy + thunder storm night. Definitely be back. My 2nd review. Spend a night by the boat ramp for Milky Way shoot. Perfect !! Despite a "little" light pollution from Mesa-Phoenix and Globe, the sky is clear and I got a few shots. Highly recommended for fellow astrophotographers.”

“Beautiful place to hang out for the day or to camp for the night Had a blast even though the fish were not biting at all.”

Dobson Ranch Park

Address: 2359 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202, USA

Park

“Such a lovely, clean park with a lake for fishing, basketball courts, and a cool playground.”

Ocotillo Trail

Address: 2980 AZ-90, Benson, AZ 85602, USA

Park

“I hike this trail often for exercise and pure enjoyment. I prefer this trail to the Foothills Trail, not only because of the great views, but also because it is easier for me to hike. I get a great workout, but for a 63 year old I find traversing this trail is a bit easier as there is less rocky striations. The Ocotillo trail has rocky areas, but not the rough rocks of the Foothills Trail. I think the extra length of this trail makes up for the less intense climb.”

Tierra Verde Lake Park

Address: 301 Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340, USA

Park

“This is a nice loop around a nice small lake, with a few benches around it, we came to feed the ducks and birds. Parking is close. I saw people walking the loop, it would make a nice walk! The water is bright blue in an artificial way. Happy we stopped here!”

Windy Hill Campground

Address: Unnamed Road, Roosevelt, AZ 85545, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“It was basically a ghost town in June. They had 2 playgrounds, clean showers with warm water and lockable doors. Bathrooms were tidy and stocked, grounds were gorgeous. There’s water spigots around the sites. Tent sites had plenty of vegetation, a fire ring, picnic table, and canopy. We had a fabulous time.”

Tangerine Sky Community Park

Address: 4411 W Tangerine Rd, Marana, AZ 85658, USA

Park

“We really enjoyed walking our dogs here. There’s a sizable walking trail surrounding the park which we walked a few times with the pups at sunset. The dog park was nice as well but we preferred just walking around. Views are gorgeous. Recommend for adults, kiddos and dogs.”

Dixie Mountain

Address: Phoenix, AZ 85085, USA

Park

“We had never been here before but since it was close to our Happy Valley area Hotel, we decided to give it a try. Not too difficult and probably just about the right length(well too long for my wife!)for our 60+ year old legs. We did a combination of two trails, the Hawk and Desert trails. Nice scenery and pretty well maintained. Nice trail head rest area as well.”

Quail Creek-Veterans Municipal Park - Town of Sahuarita

Address: 1905 S Old Nogales Hwy, Sahuarita, AZ 85629, USA

“This is a probably the best park in the Sajuarita area. There is a permanent corn whole setup with a synthetic grass playing area, a great climbing and sliding play ground with many cool obstacles. There is also an all sand beach style volley ball court, a basketball court, pickle ball and tennis courts and a dual sided dog park. The dog park is split into two sides for large and small dog separation. The park is always in pristine condition and the play area is covered for all day play temperatures.”

Box 8 Ranch

Address: 226 S Smith Dr, Superior, AZ 85173, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging Storage

“It was a good place to overnight, I was here for two days, I was here an extra day because I had an issue with my truck I was quickly able to fix. The only reason for 4 stars is because the second night it filled up, a couple of the campers were a little on the loud side, one parked next to me in a strange angle and there generator noise was going right into my RV bedroom , if they had parked like everyone else the exhaust of said generator would not have been pointed at us. This may have been an isolated incident? We are on our way home after wintering in Quartzite with the tens of thousands of boon docking going on there we never had that problem? That's just my experience probably not typical.”

Apache Park

Bog Springs Campground

Address: Green Valley, AZ 85629, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We were unable to get a spot earlier last week - April (it's very popular, especially with birders) but the ranger told us to try Monday or Tuesday after noon and we were able to choose from 3 open spaces, though only one would have been available for an RV. People in RVs will happily stay for the 14 day maximum, though you can go down the road to the much more remote Proctor campground and wait for a space to open up. Proctor offers dispersed camping, far from the neighbors, but it's lower elevation and in shrubs instead of trees. At Bog Springs, we noticed that the RV next to the toilet relocated to another spot when we were packing up, so it's not hard to get an ideal space if you have time and patience. We only stayed one night and had a great site in the back (sites 9 &10 by the Dutch John Spring trail are tents only). Each site has 1 or 2 picnic tables, fire pits, access to potable water (wonderful!) and ample trees to shade you or to hang a hammock. The campers across the street were camping in the hammocks. As it's getting hot in April in Arizona, it's lovely to be at this camp site that is in the low 80s during the day when it's 90s in Tucson. It dropped to the mid 40s at night, which was perfect sleeping bag weather. In the morning, we were visited by turkeys and deer strolling through.”

Las Colinas Motor Home-RV Resort

Address: 7136 Sunland Gin Rd, Eloy, AZ 85131, USA

“This resort is great! We stayed in site one. The site has gravel and level. Laundry room just got new machines and they work great! The showers are clean but only 3 of them (one each for men and women and family) Pool and hot tub were always clean and tended too. The staff and community are all wonderful! Highly recommended staying here. The price is excellent!”

Mesa Tennis & Pickleball Center at Gene Autry Park

Address: 4125 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85205, USA

“Great playground! Park was clean other than Construction. Nice picnic area. Can reserve volleyball courts there's tennis and baseball fields. I'm sure all those need to be reserved. Found it accidentally but I will return. My only negative is that there was no bathroom.”
