“Wonderfully empty. Even on a nice day, few people come here. It's got great interpretive signs around marsh ecology and stunning views of San Pablo Bay and the San Pablo Hills. Bonus if you are a railfan: LOTS of trains go by the East side - where the UP main line parallels the multi use trail to the main part of Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline”

There is not a payoff in terms of a view or a marker but the intensity means it is an area that is not frequented by casual visitors or bikers so the solitude alone can make this worthwhile. As with all of Redwood Regional, the shade and aura are a welcome relief from the bustle of Oakland.”

“Been going there since I moved to Pinole 9 years ago. Always a good group of dogs & people. There are two parks one for small dogs & one for small to extra large dogs! There are benches & a picnic table. Come on down a good time will be had by all & some very happy & wore out dogs! ????????????????”

“absolutely love this place. Its peaceful here. A lot of kids come to skate here! You can skateboard, roller skate, and ride your bikes here! I live right down the street so I enjoy coming here everyday. Its great for all ages! I will add some pictures a little later today. I have four dogs so I walk around here with the dogs, as well. “A rare plant community is the highlight of this park. Loop routes require descent/climbing but you can do an out&back route for a flatter trip. All trails connect to the larger east Bay ridge network - from here you can hike north to Sibley or south to Redwood Regional.”

“Nice place to hike or get a run in. You have your choice of killer hills or gradual hills. The trails are maintained and in pretty good shape. There's some trees for shade, but it goes away when you hit the pastures. Yup. You get to run with cows around you. Don't worry, the ignore you. You mostly just have watch for their patties scattered throughout the trail. Overall I like this park. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lack of decent bathrooms. There's porta potties and outhouses. That's it.”

“All Hercules parks close at sunset. I enjoy walking the perimeter path here. The park is busy on weekend mornings with soccer or little league baseball so it can get lively. Well maintained with a covenient restroom.”
