“A wonderful collection of local trails that often go unnoticed by hikers and bikers. I often hike these trails with little or no contact with other people. Lots of cattle are out here though, so maintain your distance and don’t get yourself trampled because you decided it was a good idea to approach one of them.”

“Great park for hiking, walking dogs, picnics and parties. I think Alvarado park hits all the marks. Clean. Accommodating. Trails are wide and defined. There are 2 large bathrooms. A play structure for kids ages 3-12. I've been having a great time at this park for decades.”

“Beautiful view with miles of hikes and history all the way to San Jose. Dog friendly. You can get a feel for how the rest of the land used to look by visiting here. If the wind is high enough right in this spot and the water tower up the hill, you can lean into it and it will hold you, very fun. I hear back in the day there used to be vehicle access, now it is a sanctuary for wildlife.”

“This place is great for a quick hike outdoors. Trails can range from leisurely strolls to butt kicking hills and ridges. Also, the well placed signs deliver a lot of really interesting information about the park's geological past. It's also dog friendly!”
Address: 3980 Clark Rd, El Sobrante, CA 94803, USA
“If you like hiking in wide open spaces, this 4 star is for you. The view is wonderful, but the wind can get strong, and there isn't a ton of shade to start out. There are no garbages, no benches, no bathrooms, and no water. It's right above a little private school, and be careful not to park in their lot. The trail is not paved, so rain=mud. The path immediately is an uphill adventure, and it goes for a short while. Creatures seen here in the past include: coyotes, fox, mountain lions, skunks, opossum, raccoons, cattle, horses, bats...the usual things you find in a large natural land area.”

Theres alot of obstacle courses on the big jungle gym with 4 slides. Very spacious and wider to go through it. One gym has a toddler size gym. A basketball court and tennis courts. 2 picnic tables with 1 bbq grill and trash cans. Tons of benches and seating areas facing the playgrounds. Good to have events here. Nice quiet family friendly neighborhood here. And its gated ! Come here all the time and I love it here for parents and children!”

“I had nonidea that this was called siesta valley, i have been coming here for nearly 40 years and I do have to figure the reason for the name is because EBMUD employees and regional park fire and police come to nap here. Yes, I have seen them many a time sleeping on our dime but didn't know they named the valley after it..”
