Vert beautiful beach. Sand easy to walk on. Cool temperatures. Quiet and peaceful beach. A must see!
Great unspoilt place with whales swimming just off shore
Limantour Beach is accessible at a leisurely pace along the sandy pathway. A Narrow bridge facilitates passage over a tidal creek to help protect the delicate ecosystem. The moment your eyes rise above the natural seawall, you're glad you brought your camera. At once you are thankful for the panorama mode in your camera as one snapshot cannot come close to capturing the majestic view of Limantour Beach.
Lovely beach. Pretty flat, with a slight decline to the waves. COLD! (It's the Pacific...) the waves weren't big. The beach is huge - goes on for a long distance. We hiked the Muddy Hollow Trail (?) out to the beach - 4.25 miles round trip. A lovely, fairly flat hike. Trail and beach are both very well maintained. A lovely spot to visit, and a very nice hike to get there!
This is one of the best beaches in the Bay Area for relaxing, walking, and, especially, nature. There are a myriad of hiking trails in the vicinity, but walking the massive beach is an epic hike in itself. The water and the wind is calm because it’s in Drake’s Bay, blocked from the mighty Pacific climate. It might be my favorite beach in the Bay Area.
