“I live around the corner, driven by this place for years. So on a quest to try and support more of my local eateries, I've neglected giving this, among others a shot. I finally decided to try it a couple weeks ago and what excellent food this place has! The food is unbelievably fresh and tastes great. Might even give Las Barcas a run for their money. Certainly for breakfast. Menu is smaller I guess, but is diverse for what you want to try and everything is delicious with it's choice of ingredients. Coffee they make is super good too! A lot to be said about the interior too. I really like the vibe and aesthetic all around. Especially for locals. Looks small outside, but rather spacious inside. Lots of comfortable seating in and on the patio. You can even sit at a working Ms. Pac-Man cocktail cabinet. They do have other To-Go menu items, i.e. muffins as well if you're in a hurry. Though, I've never had to wait much more then a few mins for an order. Lastly, staff has been super friendly and happy to help whenever I've come in. Couldn't ask for better service. Have been back multiple times since introducing it to friends and family, all having highly positive experiences.”

“Reasonably priced dishes and many to choose from. We ordered a Pho Hoa Sen, claypot rice, BBq Spring roll and Veggie Beef noodle soup. The soup got Pho was not as flavorful as other vegetarian pho I have tired before. But the claypot rice was amazing. The sauce combination was perfect to bring out the smokey taste of the rice. Note: They do charge for hot tea, only $1.”

“Situated in the historic Yorba Linda train depot, we stopped in for an afternoon treat. Polly's is well known for it pie, but offers a great menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. While we ordered the coconut creme and banana creme pies for ourselves, at the advice of our server, we tried the boysenberry pie Ala mode warmed up and WOW! We enjoyed that together and it was a race to the last bite. My wife, being an only child, is not good at sharing, more on that in another review, but each bite was better than the last. So the boysenberry is excellent, the coconut creme pie is subtle, finishing with a smooth coconut taste and the banana creme is as expected with all of the pies having a soft, flaky, buttery crust that had you eating g the edges because it was just that good. If you find yourself in the area, this is a must do.”

“My bf and I have been searching for a good Thai food spot since moving out to HB. We're big Thai food fanatics, honestly if we find the right place we'd probably be dining there once a week. I'm seriously addicted! So I'm happy to say that my experience at Mai Thai Restaurant did not disappoint! My bf and I dined here yesterday for the first time. They weren't too busy for it being a Sunday afternoon, which was nice. It looked like there was only one server working anyways so it's a good thing they weren't packed. The restaurant is located in an older strip mall that has ample parking so that won't be an issue. The restaurant does look super dark from the outside, honestly I was questioning if they were even open when we arrived. But don't be put off by their tinted windows and the barely noticeable open sign flashing. They're open! When we walked in they had a sign in the front advising customers to wait to be seated. Make sure you wait! There was a customer that tried seating himself after us and they made him go back and wait in line. So take the signs seriously. We were seated less then a few minutes from walking in though so there basically was no wait. The restaurant has a very dark vibe to it, kind of matches the way it looks from the outside. The black upholstered seats, mirrored walls and dim lighting makes me think it used to be a hookah lounge or something of the sort. I liked it though! Very different. The food is obviously the main point of this review so I'll move on to it. We ordered the following: Cheese wonton ($8.75), Thai fried rice ($12.75), Pad Thai ($13.75), Panang Curry ($13.75) and a large Thai tea to drink ($6). I'm actually not sure if we got the Crab rangoon or the cheese wonton. I know my bf ordered the Crab rangoon but when it was brought out to us it looked like the only filling was cream cheese so I'm assuming we got the cheese wontons instead. Either that or their filling has very little crab in it. Also, the sweet and sour sauce that came with it was a little watered down and thin. That would be my only complaint. Other than that everything else was delicious! The fried rice was cooked perfectly, Pad Thai had just the right amount of fish sauce in it so it didn't taste too fishy like some other places we've tried. The Panang was piping hot and tasty! Very spicy but we asked for medium so thats definitely what we got! Their Thai tea is amazing too - the right ratio of tea to cream so it wasn't too sweet or tea-like. The wait time for everything was pretty good too. From the time we were seated and ordered to the time our food arrived was probably in the span of maybe 10-15 minutes. Not bad. I'll definitely be coming back here in the future! I'm happy to have found a good Thai spot in the OC.”

“We were walking in Balboa Island where we came across this place! Great place if you want 1-2 slices otherwise you're looking at like $25-$30+ for a pizza when Costco is literally right around the corner with 2-3x as much pizza for what you pay. I'll give it to these guys though, the pizza does taste great. I'd ask for it well done if I was you, as it has always been more rewarding that way. The workers are nice here. Another similarity would be zPizza. NY Pizzeria is probably more pricey than that but if price is not your concern, definitely give this place a taste and at least experience it 1-2 times!!”
