“Loved the small cabin, was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kitchen (stove, microwave, pots, dishes, coffee maker + free coffee!). Mostly kept the curtains closed, as the proximity of other buildings made it feel less private with them open. Both owners were kind and welcoming. Perfect location for hiking — it was so nice to start hikes from the cabin rather than needing to drive. Also an easy 20-30 minute walk to Tahoe City for dinner.”

“The location is great, quick access to the main road but still finds tranquility. 30 minutes drive to Sand Harbor. I stayed upstairs @ the forest view 3 cabin for 2 nights, got a peek-a-boo view to the lake, cabin was nicely finished but the bathroom is due for some maintenance. The wall heater in the bedroom was noisy, light sleeper beware. The cabin didn't have a hair dryer, bring your own if you need one. Bring your own cooking oil if you plan to cook, the cabin only provided the spray on cooking oil.”

“Our stay was lovely. The Cottage Inn was so cozy, and whoever is cooking breakfast knows what they’re doing. It was delicious, we didn’t need to eat lunch. The rooms are comfortable and the everyone we met and who worked there was friendly and kind.”

“What a pretty little Campground nestled in between all kinds of activities including a baseball diamond and a boat launch. The campground itself is kind of quaint and there is a trailer there that looks like it's been there for a while! A nice little change from what you normally see on North Shore.”

Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than expected bc of my friend's health condition and Max was accommodating in our delicate situation. I will be back & I highly recommend it.”

“This is a tent camping grounds. Everything is walking from the parking lot. A Lake Tahoe beach is right across the road. It's high season right now August 1st. Lots of tourists, I guess I'm one of them too! Had a lot of interesting evening activity last night there was an adolescent brown bear who is smelling all the treats that the campers had left out and came into the campgrounds poached the bag of chocolate almonds from one group. He hung around for probably 45 minutes or more. I retrieve the campground host he came with his air horn and over the course of another 30 minutes was able to slowly hurt the bear back into the forest. As with most national Forest service parks there are toilets and water besides are in the national Forest. We are in drought season, very bad. So no fires of any sort.”

Not to mention the view is amazing! Right on the lake we enjoyed watching the sunrise and would come back to the area just to stay here again!”

“"Planning my summer roadtrip, and everyone said it was impossible to get a campsite in Tahoe, CA during the summer. Rec.gov makes booking easy and 3 days before I left, I scanned sites near the lake and booked my campsite using their phone app for Android. The campground is directly across the street from the West Shore Market (great for snack gathering & outdoor people watching) and the bike path that circles the lake, perfect for an afternoon walk. Arriving on Sunday, I followed the weekend crowds and had a pretty mellow site with a large tent spot #42. By late afternoon, a friendly group of 12 year old boys and their families began the time -occupying tradition of dead tree chopping and I lost any hope of seeing a bear. The campground has over 80 sites and is very family friendly. RVs, campers, tents, and even a few hammocks - everyone can make this land by the lake their home. Thanks Ed - no bear sighting this time!"”

“What a great hotel experience. Our room was clean and cozy, the staff was polite and helpful, and the breakfast provided was great. I liked that they switched up the menu so we didn't have exactly the same thing for our three day stay. The fitness center was clean with nice equipment. Pool is small and there's no hot tub but does the trick. Oh they also have complimentary soft fresh cookies at the counter throughout the day. This is a safe booking, they'll take good care of you!”
