“So, my toes are wiggling as I write this because I'm that happy to be back at Rey's. We remember when this location opened. We had just moved in around the corner & it quickly became our rest hole. I don't know how many friends, family, colleagues or out of town guests we fed during the years we lived so close. Apx 13 years ago we left CA & moved to AZ. I still can't find comparable food. In one of my previous visits back home, I packed up a couple of meals & took it home on the plane. I grew up with a Hispanic aunt & love good Mexican food. That being said, I'm back in town for a stressful time, yet thrilled covid political reaction didn't close them down. After a stressful morning, we came in for lunch. We recognized loved faces & we ordered my Chili Colorado Mega Wet & a Carnita plate. I sucked on chips cradling the beloved sour cream sauce & salsa selection. I cried over a margarita. “Easy trail and connects to American River College, which has a very nice new track. Lots of extensions into the nearby suburbs. Wildlife you might see includes ducks, many other birds, squirrels, occasionally mule deer. Good for dogs. Arcade Creek runs thru it so it will occasionally flood the trail and the bridges that cross it. Lot of trees downed in recent windy storms. Lots of Miner’s Lettuce in early Spring! Try some, it’s delicious!”

“This is one of my favorite finds recently. I came here 2 days in a row because it was so good. It is a small little place tucked in the corner of a small mall. I had the Chapli Kabob on my first visit. I had never heard of it before. It was a beef patty with a good amount of seasoning mixed in and then crusted with more. It was very tasty and unique for me. It was served over rice with a salad on the side. Normally wouldn't think much of a side of rice, but the rice I had was exceptional. It was done just right and had a nice light seasoning. I have also now had the gyro plate and chicken kabob. Both were also very well seasoned and tasty. I also ordered a mango lassi and was a little disappointed at first when they were all premade in cups sitting next to the can sodas but was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it. The mango lassi wasn't as sweet as I have had from other places but I really liked it this way. Other places make their mango lassi taste kind of like a smoothie but this one had a very distinct yogurt flavor that came through. I really like this version. The dining area is a little small but it was kept very clean. There are about 6 or 7 booths and a counter with 3 chairs so might get crowded during busy times. I saw many people pick up takeout while I was there too. The prices are great for what you get. Can't think of another place to get the same kind of quality and quantity for the price they have for their plates. I am definitely going to be a regular at this place now.”
