Nande-Ya

Address: 1737 Post St, San Francisco, CA 94115, USA

Restaurant

“Went to get some lunch during the weekend. We got seated aright away, the staff was friendly and really attentive. The food was delicious and good portion. I think this is one of my top places to go to because the taste of the donburis and takoyakis is really similar to the ones in Japan. Ordered some takoyakis, chirashi donburis, tuna poki, the ramen lunch meal and hot sake. It was all delicious!”

“I ordered a single scoop of black sesame ice cream Pros: The ice cream was super thick and creamy. Satisfying Black sesame flavor was there There really isn’t much for me to say for ice cream Neutral: Worker was ok Cons: Ice cream cup sizes only come in large and small Only one scoop for small and 2 for large Would have liked to try/sample some of the other flavors, but didn’t want to eat too much ice cream”

Udon Mugizo

Address: 1581 Webster St #217, San Francisco, CA 94115, USA

Restaurant

“Udon Mugizo was a delightful experience. Although they were out of their Signature Uni Udon when I went, the Smoked Salmon was a pleasant surprise that had lovely depth and was contained in a very light cream sauce although plenty rich in flavor. The restaurant was filled, and a line was out the door on a Monday night dinner, as I was on the wait-list for around 20 minutes. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, although on the louder end with all the conversation. As for the meal, the creamy spinach sauce was surprisingly rich for a light consistency, and the green onions, seaweed, and ornamental sprouts added a decent amount of texture for the course. Some cheese grated on top of the cream added an additional layer of richness and flavor. The udon noodles were well cooked and was able to pull delicious amounts of spinach-cream goodness with each bite. The smoked salmon was a little one dimensional, but served its purpose as the protein of the course. Overall, I couldn't come up with any significant downfalls of this dish as I was too busy slurping away. However, the dish was not memorable and didn't strike me as something I would be urging others to try, as I spent around $25 including tip. The largest table area I could spot could seat around 4 or 5. A nice date spot if you're having trouble picking, or a nice and quick solo meal!”

Sasa Japanese Restaurant

Address: 22 Peace Plaza suite 530, San Francisco, CA 94115, USA

Restaurant

“We stumbled upon this place on our last visit to Japan town. We weren’t sure what to expect and it ended up being a real treat. The actual dining area is absolutely beautiful and I love the calm that all the natural elements provide. The sushi itself was very high quality and there are so many things that we are excited to go back and try. Not your everyday sushi menu.”

Octavia

Address: 1701 Octavia St, San Francisco, CA 94109, USA

Restaurant

“Update: Since pandemic they lost their Michelin star and it feels like the food is just good and not great... Great delicious food, more of European style meets New American. Service was good. Great wine selection. Daily changing menu.”

“Our family’s favorite spot for rich, soulful soup. 🍜 This I would consider a regular neighborhood spot that is always on point. Kind, appreciative and hardworking staff.”
