“Fabulous hiking. Well maintained. Huge trees. Great hiking paths in the shade. Just a fabulous park for hikes and gatherings. They charge an entrance fee of $8 but it pays for the upkeep of the park clearly and the money is well spent. Good for kids and sports as it has playgrounds and picnic areas.”

“Wonderful environment, hip crowd, and good food. Only marred by Perpoly paying more attention to his dinner than his guests. Though, to be fair, he was charming later..”

“Small quaint park in Belmont. One can easily miss the entrance to this park which resembles a residential driveway. There is no parking inside the park; must park on the neighborhood streets and walk into it. But, once in, there is a children's playground followed by 2 Tennis courts with a hitting wall, a half court basketball area, 🚻 a bathroom, water fountain, horseshoe pits, and a moderate sized grassy area for a picnic or party. On the weekend we went, the tennis and basketball courts were being resurfaced. While an inconvenience, we made due with what was there and had a good time with family.”

“Nice place for the whole family, especially for the kids! There are two parking lots on the left and right of the entrance with full capacity after 12:00 at weekend. Two playgrounds for kids, one is for toddlers, the other is for the elder. Bathroom is next to the parking lot that is close to the playground. You may BBQ here with some shades. You can also practice your balance on the surface of the water, bring your paddle board or kayak to relax here. But please throw the rubbish in the trash can to keep the environment as it was. Remember to bring a jacket in the afternoon.”

“Love this park! There is a walk path to get to both the park and toddler park. I really like how the toddler park is gated so that any dogs, or balls don't affect the tiny ones. Lots of parking around the park, it is in a nice quiet neighborhood. There is a water fountain that is on some times for the kids to play in. A nice big area for everyone to share to kick a ball around or play catch. They also have public restrooms and tables to picnic at. I've come to this park since I was a kid, I definitely recommend it.”

“Was fun clean area we used the tennis courts. It's close to the freeway so it's a little noisy from cars passing but other than that it's great has tall trees providing plenty of shade on both tennis courts, there's 2. There's a field you can play soccer/rugby/football near by and a track circling it. My son enjoyed riding his scooter there. There is construction in the front so just ride around and you'll see field and courts.”

“I wish the park was maintained well by the city .. it's a great place without any lawn maintenance”

“Such a great walk/hike. The views from the top offer a full view of the Bay. Make sure to bring water and maybe a windbreaker if you get cold. Walking/hiking boots are a must. The trail is relatively simple and well maintained.”

“The Kite Hill Preserve is the very best example in San Mateo County, of California's original California native grasslands and wildflower fields, as they looked 300 years ago, producing spectacular blooms of tens of millions of wildflowers March to June. Then, July to October, the spring wildflowers go dormant for the summer, and the summer flowers start bloom in patches. On a sunny summer day you can smell the scent of the white tarplants that stay green all summer. This area would look "barren" in the summer and fall because there are no irrigated lawns, as it is being restored to it original fire-safe and weed-free wild conditions. An excellent example of how the flammable weed grasses in our other open space preserves, could be converted to fire-safe wildflower meadows, with only monthly mowing and fertilizing. No bathrooms, no picnic areas and no ticks either. This is a wildflower preserve being restored to its original conditions, so your only expectation should be--an absolutely wonderful display of flowers in spring that might astound native plant enthusiasts and botanists. An interesting place for bird-watchers, with a resident population of blue birds that nest there. Trails criss-cross the 17 acre preserve, and is a very easy walk. You park along Jane Drive behind the locked gate, walk through the pedestrian gate that is always open, walk down Jane Drive, and take the first trail that runs along the I-280 fence. Nice bench further down the trail, with a beautiful view that overlooks the Stanford Hills in the distance.”

Be sure to stop by Sammons Snack shack near the baseball fields for a quick bite during your kids practice ; ) I just discovered the snacks here after years of coming to the park so be sure to stop by and support the local little league”

“This is a very nice little park in the shape of a circle. There is an apartment complex and houses surrounding this park and it's a quiet little place. There are some really tall trees and it's peaceful, occasionally you'll see people taking their kiddos for a stroll or people walking their dogs. I'd imagine it must be a nice place to walk through if you're in the neighborhood, but I love this park! It's very relaxing and clean.”

“We kayaked from redwood city to here.. Launching and docking a kayak here is technically doable but its an ordeal. They haven't dredged the area in a long time so there is a lot of mud. Look up the winds and tides ahead of time.”
