“For the past nine years Jonathan Corona, owner of Tensile Strength, has been my trainer. I have been a member of another large, prestigious Sacramento gym and have been trained by several of the multiple trainers who work there. After experiencing a dramatic improvement in my physical condition from my workouts with Jonathan the trainers at the larger gym paled in comparison. Jonathan's workouts never feel like a drudgery; he seamlessly adapts his small, but well equipped, gym to each individual's needs. Every session has something different or new and Jonathan knows just how far to push his clients so that they feel accomplished but never discouraged. I, and other clients that I have spoken with, feel that our health and future physical well-being are squarely in his hands as the results he achieves and the atmosphere that he creates, inspire us with confidence.”

“Recently started here and the workouts are challenging. When I leave I am tired but feel accomplished! I love that they have a variety of class times to fit my schedule. The small class atmosphere is supportive. Jen is a great trainer and very motivating and it never gets boring or redundant. Recommend this place to anyone!”

“To all it maybe Life Changing, I was asked to give a review of my on-going experience with the Pa Kua International League. The name sounds a bit overwhelming, but the people are genuine; along with what you’ll learn! I started with Tai Chi, become more interested and took up Archery, Yoga, and finally Martial Arts. The sole idea is that you’re competing against yourself. I’ve been doing for 2 1/2 years and I’m slowly beginning to know oneself. The knowledge you can use inside the Dojo and it permeates everything. If you’re looking to improve your balance, or see the nice moves of Tai Chi or the rigorous moves of Martial Arts or the fun of concentrating on the bow & arrow, this is the place to go. Beginning or advanced students are all welcome; the camaraderie is like being at home. It’s well organized, clean and you may want to make it yours. Exercise is good for everyone, if you have medical problems, the Masters will take that into account. It’s relaxing, breathing is a large part of the form; as I said Martial Arts can be difficult to master, but we medically challenged students who are up to the task. Not to say, these students are comparing against themselves. We have 3 studios in Huntington Beach, Tustin and Orange. Come and try it out, the first class is no charge.”

“Sender One at Runway in Playa Vista is a brand new bouldering/climbing gym! The rocks for each level of climbs are colored so you have suggestions for staying on course. They do a reduced price climb night a few times a month and a LGQBT night as well as other ongoing events. They offer kids hours for little ones and have a really fun tread wall! This gym is bouldering only so no ropes but if you’re looking for that, they also have a climbing gym in El Segundo with the ropes! You can park in the runway parking structure for a few bucks or on the surrounding streets!”

“Coach Doug is amazing! Not only does he know his stuff with regard to building strength, he can help get you dialed in with nutrition and mindset as well. I started 30 days ago feeling weak, depressed and low in confidence, and in just one month I am feeling empowered! Now I believe this 62 year old body IS capable and the active retirement I dream of is not only possible, it’s here! So much joy and gratitude! Thx Doug… you are a true gem 💎”

“Systems is an amazing gym and I am so happy I found it. The energy is awesome, but the best part about the gym is the trainers. Sandy is one of the trainers, and she loves what she does and it shows. She pushes you to be the best you can be. When you want to give up, she is right there encouraging you to keep pushing. She always changes up the workout so you will never get bored and the moves will always push your body in a way you never thought possible. With the help of Sandy and the rest of the amazing staff, I was able to lose 30lbs within several months. Thanks Systems!!”

“Teddy's Total Body is hands down the best place I have ever worked out at. Teddy is a man of integrity and a master of his craft. He is truly dedicated into getting you to work out and push you for maximum results each and everyday. The photo you see is from only 3 MONTHS of training with him. Everyone compliments me that I'm getting buff so quickly. I've had around 4 personal trainers the past three years and none of them can compare to Teddy. If you need a personal trainer stop looking, you found the right man & place.”

“I highly recommend Functionally Fit for Life! I've had the opportunity to attend Mike's evening group class since January 2022. His focus on stretching and mobility work prior to the start of each class is so helpful because I sit at a desk all day. He paces his class to the level of strength and stamina of each person while taking care of individuals that might need alternate exercises due to outside injuries/recovery. He is thorough in explaining each exercise and happy to clarify any direction of what to do. If you attend a group class with Mike, you'll notice the brief conversations he'll have with his regulars while also guiding his new students and listening for feedback and giving extra guidance when needed. Since attending his classes, I've seen such an improvement in my strength and flexibility. It's so great seeing the progress I've made over time and it makes me happy to see others working towards their health goals as well. Functionally Fit for Life is a fantastic fitness program provided in the quiet town of Borrego Springs. If you are interested in learning more, I would highly recommend you reach out to Mike and attend one of his classes. You'll love it!”

“What better way to start the weekend than with yoga on the beach?! Libby is a wonderful instructor and her classes are perfect for all levels. They usually begin with some stretching, move into a gentle vinyasa flow, and end with a luxurious savanna. Libby does a nice job explaining all of the postures and often shares some inspirational quotes throughout the class. I always leave feeling completely blissed out and ready for a wonderful day! Bring a blanket and look for Libby with her tripod (she live streams the classes if you can’t make it to the beach)! 🧘🏼♀️ ☀️💖☺️”

“I have been attending Studio 66 Pilates for about 2 years and love it. I have tried other Pilates Studios and have not been as impressed. Brenda is a very professional and knowledgeable instructor. Her sessions feel like a private session even though there may be other people attending. She pays close attention to your form, making corrections when necessary for your benefit. Cone join us, I bet you will be hooked.”

“Agata is an excellent and skilled Pilates teacher. I take private lessons with her and her knowledge and understanding of how to develop the skills and strength of Pilates at your level is spot on! She always takes time to show and help you with correct formation. If you are looking for a class with a more personalized experience you will want to try her class!”

“One of the best schools in the area. The owner, Julio is an excellent black belt with a lot of knowledge and skill. He teaches both the kids and adult classes. He is wonderful with the kids. If you are thinking of getting your kids started in jiu jitsu, I would highly recommend this place. If you’re looking to start jiu jitsu or are looking for a new school, I highly recommend this place.”

“I visited this place when traveling for work and found that the gym was very small and looked old. However, the staff was nice and accommodating. They were able to provide me with everything I needed to do my workouts during the morning. Unfortunately, the gym didn’t have the perks that other gyms have, such as a sauna or a pool. The equipment was also outdated and not well-maintained. Despite these shortcomings, I was still able to get a good workout in. If you’re looking for a more modern gym with better amenities, I would suggest looking for another option around the area”

“Taekkyon is amazing! A one of a kind martial arts. Master Hong teaches the original style of Taekkyon without the influence of other systems of martial arts added into it (Other Orgs are known to add extra techniques from other systems). I have trained many styles of MA in the past. Master Hong is an incredible teacher. He is passionate, focused and patient. At his school Taekkyon can be approached in multiple ways. One is a slower paced, full body (Health Exercise) style of Taekkyon, reminiscent of Tai Chi. Another is the full system taught as a Martial Arts first, where applications and concept are drilled in from the beginning. Taekkyon is also taught as a fast paced impact exercise reminiscent of Kickboxing while utilizing Taekkyon techniques. All ways of learning eventually take you to the same place. Its just a matter of which approach is best for you and how far you want to take it. Master Hong focuses on the core principles of Taekkyon, teaching the skill needed to achieve proficiency step by step. Taekkyon is an intelligent, well thought out system where no movements are wasted. Every movement has a reason, and every reason furthers the concepts learned. This system is surprisingly efficient. Taekkyon also focuses on a healthy body by building strength without straining the joints along with active breathing techniques. This is a super cool and unique place to train! Also, you aren't going to find anything else like this in the entire US at this point! Wi Dae Taekkyon can only be found in Seoul Korea and La Crescenta, CA. Although Master Hong has a Korean accent, he always takes the time needed to make sure you understand what he is teaching. I really feel like I found a hidden gem.”

“What a joy finding Bliss Yoga in Encinitas was a few months ago - a locally owned business with a beautiful energy and healing space. I am a beginner and attend the 9:30am class week days and 9am class on Saturday. Additionally I have attended other events here including an evening breath work class which was exceptional. You can tell Lorraine the owner loves her business and she is such a nice and warm person. This is by far one of my most favorite discoveries since moving to Encinitas a fee years ago.”
