Lots of fun!
Beautiful landmark, only accessible on foot from either Rollinsville or Winter Park sides (road is thoroughly barricaded, enough to probably stop a battle tank from cruising through), but it's an easy walk from where the vehicle part of the road ends. Can peak over the barricades inside (don't go in!), and climb up the trail on to the top for beautiful views. A great spot to check out in summer. Note that Rollins Pass road can be blocked with a meter or more of snow until July, and may not be accessible for the majority of the year aside from August-September.
Boulder wagon road is a fun, mild run. Otherwise the trail was much busier than I would personally choose, but this was for a recovery.
It's amazing to visualize this tunnel in use, with the tracks covered in long snow sheds that filled up with smoke so badly that people would actually pass out. And perched on top of the hill above the tracks are ancient structures used as hunting blinds by Native Americans (later also used by railroad folks it seems).
Amazing site and hard to get there, best by bike. Sadly due to fear of lawyers you cannot enter. Worst is the hike a bike over the closed tunnel is more dangerous then if we could walk through it
