“This campground is along the other access trail to Boulder Field, Keyhole, and Longs Peak from the north from Glacier Gorge. The campground is located close to a stream (Boulder Brook), which flows pretty well in the summer, if you want to replenish your water supply. This campground is not extremely popular, but it is a quiet, secluded spot in the forest below tree line.”

“This is a spectacularly beautiful lake. The hike is 2 miles up (and up and up!) from Finch Lake, but if you have the energy it's definitely worth your time to visit. I didn't visit the campsite but I could (barely) see it from the lake and it's fairly well protected from the wind by some moderately-sized pine trees.”

“4/20/2018 I’ve been here and it’s a hike from Brainer Lake. Once you go pass Lake Isabelle it’s all up to Pawnee Pass. You’ll go by a marker that marks the pass then you head down towards the lake. Also I had cell phone coverage near the lake because Granby is across the valley.”

“Rarely are there ever spots left unreserved... This place is great. But; it is hard to get into considering you can count all the available places on two hands! It's not exactly state employees running this place. They are great, and attentive to the lands and surrounding ecosystem...”

“We just got back home, and are planning the next trip. The Aspen cabin was PERFECT. It was clean, had a great coffee maker, everything you'd need or want to make your stay comfortable, and most off all the peacefulness of the river out right outside. Kathy and the staff were absolutely wonderful. She helped make amazing first memories on our first family trip. Thank you so very much. Our son said as we pulled away from saying our good-byes, "That girl is so nice, I miss her" ❤ We can't wait to see you again!”

“Excellent experience. Perfect location, close to town, and gorgeous views. The camp hosts were very friendly. The office has a nice selection of necessities. The bathrooms were very clean. The playground was a fun bonus. We will be back.”

“Great place to camp if you want to make the trek to the top of longs peak over 2 days. Just make sure you reserve your spot about a month in advance.”

“Not a difficult hike. About 5 hours round trip, amazing views and when you make it to the lake is even better. It will take your breath away!”

“Arrived on Friday afternoon in site 52 right on the river. We were greeted by a herd of elk in the river!! Beautiful site, close to town and RMNP. Friendly, clean but tight site. Lots of grass for doggies. Pricey. Did not use the showers as there was little privacy. On Saturday they had a breakfast for a donation and it was very good. Would love to go back another time.”

“My wife and I spent several days in Sept. 2019 at the Spruce Lake RV park in Estes Park Colorado. The facilities were great. The staff at the park were professional, pleasant, and eager to make our stay a good one. The elk made their presence known just across the river from the park.”
