“Great park with a history that goes back to the Great Depression. Developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during FDR's presidency, trails were cut and established and an impressive suspension bridge over the river was built. A great way to spend the day or even a few hours - not bad at all for $6 a carload (at the time this was written). Be on the lookout for wildlife from alligators to turtles.”

“Did the Timberline Glamping at the campground. Highly recommend, especially for novice campers. Everything is provided and even includes air conditioning and a refrigerator in your tent. Never had an air conditioned tent before. Beautiful Park and beautiful days to camp. Did some kayaking on the River rapids too and had a blast. You definitely need to check this”

“We stayed at the park for 28 days. We were very satisfied with our stay. The office staff were very polite and the maintenance guys were spectacular! Mike met us on arrival and escorted us to our site. “Chuck” was so sweet and caring. You are lucky to have him on staff. We had a fire ant problem and he came right over! We also loved our daily bike rides! Thank you for making our stay pleasant. Tammy and Daniel Mayo”

“Great little park.. has excellent kayak launch & one-way rentals. They pick you up down-river and drive you back to your car... Tons of gators to add to your adventure floating effortlessly with the current to pickup point! Just $2 admission fee to this county park where you may also fish the river from a boardwalk.. Much better than paying $8 admission to Hillsborough River State Park where boardwalk bridges and pool have been shut down since Hurricane Irma, which was 8 years ago..😉”

“This is a beautiful 7 mile loop that you can ride or run on without fear of cars. I really enjoy this place because it is cut in the forest allowing you to see all sorts of wildlife as you go along the trail. We have been lucky enough to see deer, turkey, rabbits, birds, and a tortoise.”

“Sally in the office was a pleasure doing business with, when we arrived she had somebody show us to our site which was lot number 28, a pull through site. Had every amenity that we needed and then some, close to Busch gardens. Cable, water, and sewer available at this campground. Had a heated pool and mailboxes for extended stays, also has nightly security guards. Had three areas for laundry and a rec room by the office with pool table and TV, events are held here year-round; also has food trucks on location certain nights. I would definitely recommend this place, our recent stay here was on October 28th through November 1st 2020”

The made an awful experience bearable. Highly recommend this place. I pre-bought the package and they did not increase the price at all. Wonderful place!!!!”
