“Easy to find. Nice park, just west of the Boys & Girls club, paved path good for those wheelchairs, rollators & strollers, has toilets (did not use though) lots of new plantings so will be nice in the summer, shared playground and tables under a shelter”

“It is a nice park, and the only problem bathrooms are not open unless someone has reserved the picnic tables. Nice playground for the kids. You can have a dog there, but it's not a dog park, but they are not restricted. The baseball field or nice the basketball court is clean.”

“Arley and Vicky at Metals and Nature created a beautiful custom sized gate for our home based on their "fiddlehead" design. It turned out fantastic, and we are thrilled with the results. It was such a joy for us finding artisans who hand craft beautiful high quality ironwork. Arley walked us through the installation and supplied all of the hardware we needed to complete the job. Visit their property and delight in their creations. It's a great experience, even if you don't have an immediate requirement. When you see what they create, you'll figure out a place around your house that would become extraordinary with a Metals and Nature creation! Jim D., Punta Gorda, FL”

“Great neighborhood park. As with all county managed parks, it has it's ups and downs. It sees its share of vandalism which is caused mostly by outside (non resident) users. However with the residents involvement (report and complaint s) it is kept maintained. Overall maintenance is better than other public parks. I like the wide open fields which is why on most given days people use it to practice lacrosse or soccer.”

“Great park with a history that goes back to the Great Depression. Developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during FDR's presidency, trails were cut and established and an impressive suspension bridge over the river was built. A great way to spend the day or even a few hours - not bad at all for $6 a carload (at the time this was written). Be on the lookout for wildlife from alligators to turtles.”

“Wonderful area for families to look at Florida's wonderful nature! We checked off almost everything here (except camping), and I couldn't find any problems with the place! The trees are wonderful to look at and take wonderful pictures. I recommend this place as an area to enjoy the true nature of florida.”

“Excellent place to host a party. Plenty of space for parking and partying. A newer playground area for the kids and the swings are big enough for adults. There are public restrooms on the premises and they are fairly clean. There is a Pavillion area for party hosting. There is a basketball court with two goals. There is also a gazebo in a shaded area for chilling.”

“I love this park. I love that they have a pond which does have an alligator so beware. But it's a very nice path around the pond which is always clean. This is a very clean park. They do have other sides of the park which has two dog parks. They have I believe two baseball fields. So for people who like to play baseball and things. Otherwise it's a very nice path to walk to run and to bike and bring your dog. On the path itself doesn't have a lot of shade. But off the path there are a lot of trees with a lot of shade. If you're going to bring your dog to walk on the hot pavement please bring them water. Or at least bring them to the shaded dog park. There are also exercise stations. Check your local listings at times there are events at the park. Also what I really love about this park is that they have a lot of dragonflies. And you may be wondering why that is such a huge deal. Well it's amazing because they eat all the mosquitoes. And as many times as I have been to the park I have not gotten bitten by a mosquito. I love dragonflies. Great for sunrise and sunset walking/running.”

“You can do either a three or five mile loop. It's mostly shaded through the pines. Great for dogs. No bikes at this preserve. There is an area or two where you have to watch for water after it has been raining.”

“Be aware that this is not a public park, it is a facility for the residents of the Waterset Community. There is a dog park, playground, and a splash pad with restrooms. These all require a badge to access. The lake offers a trail.foe walking and biking that is about a one mile loop.”

“This is a great nature trail with lots of different terrains and areas where you feel completely away from the modern world. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks if you plan to hike the whole 6.2 mile trail and expect it to take about 3 hours or so with a moderate pace. There are a few areas that are a bit rough, so be prepared and wear hiking boots or shoes. Follow the yellow trail markers and enjoy.”
