“We have been coming here for years, even when the previous owners had the campsite. Let me tell you the new owners are absolutely amazing! Brad , Danielle and Tyler and all the staff go above and beyond to make your experience a great one! They have done so much to make it a better family fun campsite! Our kids always have the best time! Tons of activities for the kids and adults! Corn bag tournaments and bingo are always a good time! Lots of fun theme weekends! Ice cream shop, arcade and a great clean well maintained pool! The bathrooms and shower houses are clean and well kept! That was a big one for us! Just a quick 4 min or less drive to cannon falls and you have everything you could really need in a small town. Grocery’s, coffee, multiple restaurants an amazing bakery. This is our favorite place to camp in the summer and it’s only a short drive to the metro so extended stays on weekdays work out perfect!”

“Fantastic family friendly camp ground. Looking forward to more tent campsites to be available that give a more rustic feel. Great parks for kids, plenty of trails and walking paths, and fantastic and friendly staff!”

“2nd summer stay during the week. A lot of stuff to do and see. Great for kids, but adults really have to watch them, especially in the water park. Life jackets for all kids, seriously. Porta potties though.... absolutely disgusting. Raccoons were an issue overnight along the river sites.”

“I was able to park the car with the trailer, but it wasn't a busy day. The bathroom is closed indefinitely due to vandalism, but once you get to the trail there was a very clean port-a-potty.”

“Great nature hike. Lots of plants to observe. Is a moderate to difficult hike as it is on the bluffs.”

“One of the parks in Red Wing. They have a brand new overlook. A park with various places for a picnic. There's a lower quarry that overlooks the river and hiking / biking trails. Stop at the tower and look inside.”

“I went on the Stone House Trail. It was a well kept trail, but there are very few signs so I would recommend printing out one before you go. Also very little signal available, so another reason to have a printed map. I went to visit the house because they have the same last name as me although we are not related. It was a moderate hike.”

“A very nice park for kids and adults a like. There are plenty of benches to watch the boats and a huge playground for kids. The area is very well maintained.”

“We love the Cannon Valley Trail! Some of the most beautiful scenery, and a fairly easy ride. We usually do 1/2 the trail, either Cannon Falls to Welch or Welch to Red Wing. Both rides are about 20 mile round trips.”

“Many benches to view the water. Walking trail around the park. Sculpture art to view. Its smaller but beautiful. Good picnic spot. Has a trail to bay point park I like to take as well.”

“This is a high quality prairie remnant owned and managed by Carlton College. I came to see pasque flowers in bloom and was not disappointed! Also blooming were a few prairie smoke and prairie violets. Spring is here with more species blooming soon.”

“Love this trail! I visit several times a week from South St Paul for bike riding. Some of the pavement cracks in the “open field” areas between the gun range and the dirt road just before the new bathroom by trail run creek could be repaired. Those are some rough spots! Some potholes along the trail will catch you by surprise too - the bright white gravel they use to fill the holes only does so much. Watch out for all the tree nuts on the path during autumn too! Otherwise a very scenic and serene trail.”

“Great night of baseball at a wonderful field. Absolutely love venturing out to the "town ball" parks. No place else you can get 2 Busch-lites, 2 hotdogs for $10. Nice way to support the teams, be entertained, plus enjoy a beautiful evening outside. Highly recommend!”

“Well cared for trail especially the Cannon Falls to Welch section. Lots of beautiful rest stops and shade. Really great towns along the trail as well.”

“Nice flat area. Covered picnic area with electrical outlets. Water well spigot for fresh water. Playground, volleyball nets, water sprinklers and swimming pool for kids. Very clean area.”

“Great place to visit. The sculptures are cool. WARNING! Ground squirrels have made holes that are hidden and could cause a broken ankle or fall so watch your step! I didn't deduct stars because that comes with the territory of being in nature.”

“Very peaceful area great bike trial”

“Fun bike ride. Nice views along the river. We looped up to Lake byllesby and back to downtown. Took about an hour but we enjoyed a break at the lake and checked out the park and Campground.”

“Amazing and easy trail!! Lots of wildlife to see! We saw a fawn, red squirrels, rabbits, cardinals, bluebirds, goldfinch, and a muskrat. There are plenty of "rest areas" along the trail - some with bathrooms and many with air stations on plus tools. We didn't make it the full stretch but hope to work our way to do the roundtrip endeavor. It was a great way to spend a hot summer day! ***Important info: Bring $5 for a daily trail pass and plenty of water/snacks - there were no spots to get water the 9 miles we rode on the trail."***”

“Great facility!!!”

“Truly a beautiful place for a bike ride. We parked and entered the trail at the old west main entrance. Easy place to park off street. The trail was clean but the reason for 4 stars is that it really needs to be re-paved. It's showing its age. What I love about this trail is for a while you can here highway 61 off in the distance and the slowly but surely the sound is gone and is replaced with birds and serenity. There are multiple places to stop and rest along the way with benches overlooking beautiful scenery. There are plenty of outhouses and little bike tuneup stands. I do recommend coming here for a bike ride.”
