“We have been coming here for years, even when the previous owners had the campsite. Let me tell you the new owners are absolutely amazing! Brad , Danielle and Tyler and all the staff go above and beyond to make your experience a great one! They have done so much to make it a better family fun campsite! Our kids always have the best time! Tons of activities for the kids and adults! Corn bag tournaments and bingo are always a good time! Lots of fun theme weekends! Ice cream shop, arcade and a great clean well maintained pool! The bathrooms and shower houses are clean and well kept! That was a big one for us! Just a quick 4 min or less drive to cannon falls and you have everything you could really need in a small town. Grocery’s, coffee, multiple restaurants an amazing bakery. This is our favorite place to camp in the summer and it’s only a short drive to the metro so extended stays on weekdays work out perfect!”

“2nd summer stay during the week. A lot of stuff to do and see. Great for kids, but adults really have to watch them, especially in the water park. Life jackets for all kids, seriously. Porta potties though.... absolutely disgusting. Raccoons were an issue overnight along the river sites.”

“I went on the Stone House Trail. It was a well kept trail, but there are very few signs so I would recommend printing out one before you go. Also very little signal available, so another reason to have a printed map. I went to visit the house because they have the same last name as me although we are not related. It was a moderate hike.”

Cannon Valley Trail - Welch Station Access

Address: 26674 144th Ave Way, Welch, MN 55089, USA

Park Parking

“Love this trail! I visit several times a week from South St Paul for bike riding. Some of the pavement cracks in the “open field” areas between the gun range and the dirt road just before the new bathroom by trail run creek could be repaired. Those are some rough spots! Some potholes along the trail will catch you by surprise too - the bright white gravel they use to fill the holes only does so much. Watch out for all the tree nuts on the path during autumn too! Otherwise a very scenic and serene trail.”

John Burch Park

Address: MN-19, Cannon Falls, MN 55009, USA

Park

“Great night of baseball at a wonderful field. Absolutely love venturing out to the "town ball" parks. No place else you can get 2 Busch-lites, 2 hotdogs for $10. Nice way to support the teams, be entertained, plus enjoy a beautiful evening outside. Highly recommend!”

Cannon Valley Bike Trail Access

“Amazing and easy trail!! Lots of wildlife to see! We saw a fawn, red squirrels, rabbits, cardinals, bluebirds, goldfinch, and a muskrat. There are plenty of "rest areas" along the trail - some with bathrooms and many with air stations on plus tools. We didn't make it the full stretch but hope to work our way to do the roundtrip endeavor. It was a great way to spend a hot summer day! ***Important info: Bring $5 for a daily trail pass and plenty of water/snacks - there were no spots to get water the 9 miles we rode on the trail."***”

Cannon River Turtle Preserve Scientific and Natural Area (SNA)

Address: Cannondale Rd, Red Wing, MN 55066, USA

Park

“Truly a beautiful place for a bike ride. We parked and entered the trail at the old west main entrance. Easy place to park off street. The trail was clean but the reason for 4 stars is that it really needs to be re-paved. It's showing its age. What I love about this trail is for a while you can here highway 61 off in the distance and the slowly but surely the sound is gone and is replaced with birds and serenity. There are multiple places to stop and rest along the way with benches overlooking beautiful scenery. There are plenty of outhouses and little bike tuneup stands. I do recommend coming here for a bike ride.”
