“Super cool playground! My son always enjoys playing here abs running all around in between the two playgrounds. The main playground has that awesome triple slide that a few other playgrounds have. Has a half dozen different creative ways to climb up to the higher level. There’s a picnic shelter, sand beach volleyball court, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a paved trail through the woods. Really enjoyable park!”

“Come get your exercise on!!! I've been to active parks before, but man alive!! I wasn't ready!! Kinda felt bad, coming there to grab some photos, so I did a couple of push-ups to be a team player. Very clean, plenty of space, and they even have a full-size track. Trails also go around the entire park, so it's pet friendly and family ready!! Here's to great health!!”

“Super cool modern playground. Looks almost brand new! More advanced for bigger kids cuz there’s a lot of ropes to climb but, it is kinda layed out like an obstacle course. Really fun and modern slides and playground equipment!”

“Great easy hike to do with my family. It was mostly flat with only small elevation changes. We love all the trails at Umstead. It’s well maintained and marked. Will definitely be back.”

“Beautiful forested natural area with shared hiking and biking trails. Trails are flowy and beginner friendly, but also fast for more advanced riders. Very peaceful and tranquil area. Parking lot was full by 11:00 am on a chilly weekend. Check the website to ensure it is open on the day you wish to visit (area closes if rainy/wet)”

“This park is best little gem! It's got great rubber padding under all the equipment, so tumbles aren't a big deal. There's a hopscotch board, little excavators for the kids to dig in the sand with, and it's located in a nice quiet neighborhood. My son was thrilled he could hear the birds while he played. There's also a fence which is a big plus for me. We'll definitely be stopping by to play again!”

“Loved this park, there is a lot to do and keeps kids busy. I also like the amount of areas to sit around the park. They have bathrooms and a nice trail that leads to the lake. We had fun for hours.”

“I love the Umstead and I have hiked pretty much all of the trails. I love the Company Mills trail the most due to its proximity to my home and there is a stream where I can sit down for a while watching the water flow by. I could just take my lunch there and spend couple of hours in the woods. The second best is Sycamore trail as it varies in height and I use it when I am preparing for longer hikes, there is a secret off the road path to sit next to the dam where I can sit and each my snack or lunch. Also l the trail hugs the stream for good portion of the hike.”

“Whether you're into walking, mountain biking, or on horseback, this park offers multiple trails, places to picnic, and a pit stop or two for when nature calls. Personally, I love shredding the challenging fire trails on my hard tail mountain bike.”

“I asked my girlfriend to marry me at the gazebo, right before the great snowstorm of January 2022. It was a wonderful and special day. And very cold, so much so that we couldn’t stop laughing. In many ways the story of our love and lives together is tied to memories at this park, so we’re grateful for that and will probably never forget it. So, maybe if you come to this park you will fall in (fallon?) love. Or maybe you will see kids playing in the creek or dogs sprinting in circles, and that would be fun too.”

“Great fenced in neighborhood park. It’s divided into 4 quadrants: basketball court (separated from rest of space with tall chain link fence), toddler (2–5 year olds) playground, flat grassy field and older kiddo (5–12 year olds) playground. The equipment is all fairly new and unique — lots of climbing structures, monkey bars and slides. There are also 2 swing areas, one with 2 bucket swings and the other with 4 regular swings. I love that there are so many things to do, plenty of space for sitting at picnic tables and benches, and the fence to keep kiddos safely inside.”
