“Locke 4 is one of the best trail systems in the Nashville area. There are several miles of trail with varying terrain, but most are easy and Family friendly (However there are at least two jump lines for more advanced riders). The trail has beautiful views of the Cumberland River, and there is plenty of wildlife to see (Deer are always there, and are not scared of people).”

“I went to the Smyrna Kids Safety Day. They had the new play area/museum (don't remember the name), open to the public and the new pool area. The entire place was spectacular! It was good fun for several hours. They have a padded style room for the kids to play in. You have to be a certain age to go up to the top and wear closed toed shoes, but it was pretty cool. I will definitely be going back for my daughter to go to the top. Plus the pool area had an awesome splash pad playground for the kids. It has giant water slides and a pool. There was a discovery room inside for the kids to learn about wildlife and nature. There were several interactive activities to do inside as well. Besides just that, the playground in this park is gigantic. Literally the biggest playground I've ever been to. They have several platforms for multiple ages. There's also a splash pad in Smyrna that is great as well. I think Smyrna is exceeding expecations and going above and beyond to make this a wonderful city! It is truly great to be a parent in this city.”

“Wonderful lights and displays at the Rose of Sharon Church, popularly known as Christmas City. The church helps out a lot of people in the community and going to see their decorations at Christmas City is a wonderful opportunity to give back to them every year. Highly recommend their Christmas displays.”

“The lake is gorgeous and peaceful. The walking path is easy and wide - very little incline on the lake trail. If you're looking for more challenging trails, there are several that have significant incline. I always see various wildlife there. There are a few places you can just sit and relax. Parking can be very full when the weather is good. Some people park at the gas station across the street.”

“Nice paved winding paths that work well with the stroller. Parking lot is off of the main road, and then you walk under the tunnel to get to the paths. The sign is way too far into the park to be seen from the road, so you have to know where you’re headed.”

“5 STARS - We stayed at Montgomery Bell State Park over the Veteran’s Day weekend. Fall foliage and cool temps made for a great camping weekend. Our campsite #85 had both water and 50/30 amp electric for $29 per night. The site was adequate size for our 27’ Airstream and truck, however big rigs will not fit on this site. The camp grounds were very clean and well maintained and the park has miles of hiking and mountain biking trails to explore. A very nice campground in a beautiful part of Tennessee.”

“It was a beautiful day and the leaves are changing!! It’s rather dry so the mosquitoes are not too pesky. And we saw a beautiful little green snake!! The leaf on our dog’s head just gently wafted down and landed just where you see it!”

“I was visiting Nashville from out of town and I brought my dog to Shelby park to get some exercise. We both loved this dog park so much!! It is a really large, fenced in area with lots of trees and grass for dogs and benches for people to sit. All the people and dogs were so friendly! There were a good amount of dogs there each time I went.”

“Great park for a quick walk with my leashed dog. Other people there weren't rude. Bring your own poop bags; there are plenty of trash cans. There was only litter/trash along the sidewalk by the road (thrown from cars), otherwise the park is super clean & well-kept. Lots of benches in the shade, very picturesque.”

“We love going here every year when the sunflowers are in bloom to take pictures. It's a bit of a trek across a field and not easily accessible but once there, it's worth it.”

“I was in the area for breakfast and decided to take a short stroll. It's a family friendly park with lots of options for children's play. I like walking through many parks and trails in the county. Though it's not one of the better paths I've taken; it's granted a high ranking for the availability of a clean restroom versus a port a potty. It's a new park and I hope the city and visitors maintain its integrity.”

“We really enjoyed our camping trip here. The park was quiet and the campsites were beautiful. Watch out for the bandit raccoons at the campsites. They will rob you right in front of your eyes! The bathrooms are clean, though I did find the setup a little odd. There is only one toilet and shower in the bathroom and they are in a shared room, meaning only one camper can be in there at a time. There were portable toilets outside the bathhouse, which is supposed to be a fix for this problem I’d assume. There is NO ice on the premises so be prepared to make a trip to the store to replenish your ice if it’s really hot. It was about 100 degrees when we were there and we had to leave the park to buy ice. It’d be nice if there were some available on site to purchase. They have your back for firewood though. The bundles even come with little starters and it’s $5 a bundle. Just wave one of the staff members down while they’re driving by. The lake/pond is a nice little area of the park. We took our kayaks out for a spin and enjoyed watching the wildlife. I will say that we attempted to hike the Chickasaw Bluff Trail, but near the end it was overgrown with kudzu so we never got the reward of the view and did all that work for nothing. :-( Jordan, the seasonal interpreter, was lovely to chat with. We went on one of her guided hikes and you can tell she really loves both learning and teaching. She shared lots of knowledge on our way to the fort. All in all, we will definitely return. We loved camping here.”

“My kids had a great time at summer camp. They liked all the adventure Boxwell offered: watersports, zip lines, climbing tower, archery range, and so many more activities. They have events at all times of the year, not just summer, so I would consider checking it out for your Troop or Pack.”

“Jones Hill is a really fun trail. There's not much uphill/downhill but is not a smooth ride. There are plenty of roots and rocks to navigate through, so a different kind of technical. This was the first mountain bike trail I've been on in over a decade but would highly recommend. Wasn't sure the total distance until after, but decided to ride the entire loop. The trails are well marked staring with the gray trail, orange trail, blue, then the red trail. The total distance is about 9 miles, and took me an hour an half to finish. I had a great time, just wish it was a little closer to East Nashville.”

“We were in the area and decided to stop by for a short time. This is a beautiful park, very kid friendly with nice play area. Well maintained and good state of use. The restrooms were super clean and well kept. There are football and soccer fields, a running track, basketball, and tennis courts. Ample parking and overall a great place to spend valuable time with ur loved ones.”

“Beautiful park! Doesn't get much better. My wife and I enjoyed some "leaf peeping" and also grabbed a nice meal at the lodge. Will definitely be back in the summer and may also try the golf course”

“Very shaded, nicely paved Greenway with MANY off pavement trails to explore. Trails have easy access down to the waters of Mill Creek. The creek was extremely low today! And they are in the process of cutting down "infected" trees which do block some off pavement trails. Not crowded and the people we did come in contact with were friendly and all pets were on leashes. Very clean. Very convenient to I-24. Great parking area. Felt completely safe!”

“Big playground for the kids and a small walking trail for the adults. There are also several pavilions (which can be booked) available for use for parties, gatherings, or just casual meals. There is a small creek trail inside the wood line for exploring, but I recommend going in there with your kids just to be safe.”
