“In the past 6 years, Sem Elementary has not been without it's problems. Over all, with the funding they're given and the restrictions they have to work within I believe they do a wonderful job. The teachers we have had in our years at Sem have been caring, dedicated, and well-intentioned. The principals and specials staff have come and gone, and we have enjoyed working with them all. My children have always felt safe and supported in their classrooms, and I have felt validated and supported in ARD meetings and parent/teacher conferences. The receptionist at the front office is a bit gruff, but she gets the job done, ha! My main concern with Sem is the high turnover in teaching staff every year. I hope to see it improve, as we have several more years to invest there. p.s. I think some of the previous commenters have actually been children upset about homework - so keep that in mind if you're looking at sending your kids to this school.”

“Natyanjali is great school for learning Kuchipudi dance. Our daughter is learning Kuchipudi dance with Srilatha Suri garu. She is a great mentor, teaches with care. Her teaching style makes the learning process enjoyable and motivated. One aspect of her teaching that stood out was her personalized approach to instruction. She gives individual attention to all the students and provides constructive feedback to help improve. Beyond the confines of the studio, she encouraged us to perform at various cultural events and festivals. These opportunities helped our daughter to gain confidence and exposure. We highly recommend learning Kuchipudi under exceptional guidance of Srilatha Suri garu.”

“Having 5 children, and 11 years at FIC they are truly our second family. Julie & Patti (the Director and Asst. Director) are amazing! Truly dedicated staff that loved our children and we have never felt our kids were in safer hands than with them! I truly wish they offered ore than Mother's Day out, Pre-K, and Kinder! If you are looking for a place for your kiddos this is the place! They also have an awesome after-school care for additional time past 2:30 that is SO helpful when you have other kiddos in grade school or need to finish errands! I wish my babies could STILL be here! I love there events they put on especially Breakfast with Santa, and the silent auctions each class does! All the things they do really truly create so much joy and the teachers for the kiddos are phenomenal! PS their summer camps are equally amazing!”

“This is hands down one of the best daycare places from our experience. My daughter is 3 years 2 months and she’s been going to Children’s Lighthouse (Frisco) since she was about 2. She’s excited every day to go to “school” and she comes home happy :) All teachers are great, fun and kind to kids. Ms Cherokee is a great director. All what follows is great appreciation to Ms Angie (my daughter’s teacher) who is exceptional! She’s one of the main reasons my daughter loves going to school every day :) Her kindness is unmatched, her story—telling skills are amazing. Ms Angie spends time every day reading books with all kiddos, she made my 3 yo love books and it became a habit to hold books and read together every evening. She greets all kiddos by their name when they walk into the classroom and gives each a big hug and that really means a lot to me. Ms Angie is so detail oriented, takes care of all the little things for every kid in her class (from diaper change times when we were still at such a phase to making sure kids eat their meals/ have their daily water intake/ get their daily naps). She does daily dance/ sing routine with the kiddos in addition to colouring activities. She also asserts good manners to the little ones such as saying thank you, greeting friends, sharing toys, etc. I’d like to give her a huge THANK YOU for everything she does. I drop off my daughter every day knowing she’s loved and she’s in safe hands. We love you Ms Angie, so much! ♥️”

“We have loved every second of our experience with LLC in Frisco. I was very hesitant to put my daughter into a daycare but I knew she was ready for a school atmosphere. The tour was great, every single one of my questions were answered thoroughly, I always feel like the teachers my daughter has bond well and treat her with love and care. She is always happy to go and smiling when she leaves. She will be doing pre-k there and I have also enrolled my oldest in the summer schooler program part time as well. They offer so many flexible options with schedules and haven't charged any late fees during this covid time. I stay on top of reports and inspections with the state licensing boards and review them regularly. I never worry about my daughters safety there and she has learned SO much in the last year. My daughter loves the staff and we talk about them by name on the ride home everyday. Very thankful for LLC Frisco! :)”

“Their summer camp worked well for our family. I stay at home full time and wanted to expose my daughter to many different types of performing arts. This was a great camp to do just that. She enjoyed it. She actually walked in on her birthday and they immediately greeted us and sang her happy birthday. That felt so welcoming. They also didn’t seem lost on the first day. They knew who they were expecting and what location they were suppose to be in. I would do their summer camp again.”

“The thing is, this school is amazing. I absolutely love it and couldn't have asked for a better learning environment for me to spend my middle school years in. I absolutely adore my teachers, and I feel the kids here are really well-rounded and treat each other pretty well (even the jocks aren't too bad). Some kids cause trouble here, but all kids/teens do that, and many do it in an innocent (but nevertheless mischievous) way. Here's the problem. Some admin and elective teachers aren't the best. The admin here are nice, but they don't always step in when necessary, and ironically, can get too knit-picky sometimes. I feel like they just don't support and care for us well enough to be considered "sufficient". Some of the elective teachers are also oblivious, and just ignore obvious concerns or problems presented in different situations. Also, it seems like they don't understand anything outside their little world, and don't give any thought to other classes students may have. This goes for many teachers, such as CORE class teachers, who sometimes don't consider the scheduled assignments and workload given to us from other classes. This brings us to another problem... scheduling. This school has awful schedules, and many extracurricular activities have vague directions attached to them, which doesn't help at all. In fact, the broadcast team (that I'm part of) suffers much of this scheduling abuse. Our team doesn't get nearly enough scheduling information about different events to prepare correctly to film them. broadcast is at the bottom of the barrel in priority for the school, and always gets neglected as if an afterthought. Our emails sent always get answers long after they matter, and any requests we make are answered warily or vaguely. Back to scheduling... the events at this school sometimes don't line up, and the timings of the different assignments given to us don't always come at good times and aren't distributed throughout the year properly. This causes a lot of stress for students who have to do a lot of work on one day just so the next day would be a little easier to handle. For example, there will be days when we have absolutely no homework, and then the next day--BAM! We get 5 hours of homework to do in one day. It's really scary every day to go to school because you won't know how much homework you're going to get. The homework given at this school can be unnecessary and excessive. Like, some of the assignments we get here waste our time more than teaching us something at all. Lastly, this school doesn't have the money (or doesn't budget the money correctly enough) to replace much of the old equipment and technology we have here, and I find this bothering. Frisco ISD is pretty rich! So, what's preventing the money from coming where it's needed direly at this school? It seems like a conundrum to me, and I feel that it prevents us from having a better experience we could have had if only we had newer stuff. But other than these complaints, I THINK THIS SCHOOL IS AMAZING AND DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION!”

“My 5yr old used to go here. It's new facility and well planned with more view of classrooms. All the staff are very welcoming and caring. We never had any complaints, be it curriculum, food etc. Initially my daughter used to complain of challenging work but the teachers encouraged her and made sure she likes it. Later she really liked challenging work. The management is also very flexible and create a friendly environment. I would definitely recommend this school.”

“School is amazing! The staff is amazing and very helpful. My 6th grader had trouble navigating on the first few weeks, but now she knows here way around the whole school! There are not any bad things happening here, so it feels like a pretty safe school. The staff is probably the best part of Nelson. My daughter had trouble opening her locker on the 4th day of school, and a teacher walked over and opened the locker in a jiffy. She was also lost on the second week of school. She was stranded in the 8th grade section and couldn't find gym class. A very kind 8th grade teacher showed her the gym. Overall, this school is one of the best schools I've seen in a while, since my 12th grader is going to graduate soon.”

“Great Frisco ISD high school. It's in a great location and easy to access between Independence and Custer Rd. We have a child in her second year there and the school hasn't let us down. There are several sports teams to choose from and they have a wonderful band. The office staff is beyond nice and very helpful when called upon. This school has the largest percentage of academically gifted HS students in the area so it's very hard to rank high enough for placement in the top 10%. While not a deal breaker at this time for us, it might be for others.”
