“Visited downtown Garland a couple weekends ago, and while roaming around, we decided to grab some takeout from The Blue Rat. It is my new favorite Thai place! The crab cream cheese puffs were so good, and you could actually see and taste the crab in them! It was the perfect ratio of filling to fried breading. For an entree, I went with the pad Thai so I could compare it to other restaurants. It had so much flavor, and the dish wasn’t dry, but actually a bit saucy. Very different from other pad Thai dishes I’ve tried. Service was fast, and the young man who took our order was friendly. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend stopping here for a bite!”

“This new building is large; it's really quite remarkable. The staff - caring, attentive, genuinely concerned for the welfare of their residents and truly engage with family members. The administrative team - quite knowledgeable and friendly. A few new ones, but they came in and have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. I have had to deal with most from time to time and they have always made time for me with any issue I may have. If you have had a family member in the old building and had to transition into the new, the one thing you do notice - a majority of the nursing employees are new also. The DON, Susan, has made it her mission to hire quality, caring, dedicated staff members. They are like a ray of sunshine. The building is clean - no odors. Housekeeping is always working. Rehab - 2 different areas - quite large and that team is excellent. All managers up front - extremely friendly and welcoming. These employees, from top to bottom, show so much compassion, I would certainly recommend them to anyone who has to make a difficult decision for their loved one.”

“The worker Alexander was really nice and friendly. When I ordered my large pepperoni pizza, I asked about dipping sauces for the crust. He let me know about the crust toppers I could get for free because dipping sauces do cost a little extra. I decided to try the garlic butter topper. The pizza was not the greatest but the pepperonis were crispy and the crust was good. Service was great, pizza was good, and I'll probably come again whenever the urge for pizza strikes.”

“This was the second time I've been here and both were during lunch around 1:30 pm. There was no one at the front so I waited a bit to be seated. I ordered the Singapore noodles with a medium spicy level and a Thai tea. The food was great, the service was also great. There are about 2 or 3 that serve you at one time which I found a bit odd but it was great nonetheless. Highly recommended.”

“This place has some BOMB cha lua. For you non-Viet folks, that's vietnamese pork - kind of like our version of ham. Put it in banh mi (bread). Eat it with banh cuon (rice rolls). Roll it into your spring rolls. Eat it with rice or vermicelli. Put it in your noodle soups! Heck, you can even eat it alone - it's that good. This stuff is awesome. This place has good quality cha lua and is cheaper than it's competitor across the street. The fam always stocks up on them and we store them in the freezer. It's located deep within the Hiep Thai plaza (if you're facing directly at Hiep Thai from the outside - it's located on the right).”
